We wanted an outdoor experience that would provide fun and stimulating activities for adults and teens but not so "rustic" that would turn off two families of city slickers and suburbanites. Well, the Cole family at Marble Mountain Ranch provided everything we wanted and more! After talking to Heidi about our family's needs, we were assigned an attractive, clean & very comfortable cabin. All the food provided, including snacks, was fresh and delicious, and we really appreciated the extra effort the kitchen staff made to provide tasty vegetarian versions of everything for our three non-meat, non-fish eaters. (I am still craving the homemade, warm apple kolaches! Will have to try making those myself from Heidi's cookbook.)
The variety of activities was excellent and it didn't matter if you were a beginner or experienced rider, shooter, rafter, kayaker, etc. since the staff really listened and took care to provide the right amount of instruction for each activity. I was very impressed that we got to experience the "real" challenges and rewards of the different activities...No coddling the tourists! (My husband said Peter wasn't exaggerating at all about the hike to the waterfall. It is extremely difficult, but well worth the reward if you reach the end!) On the other hand, the Cole family and staff are very professional and knowledgeable, and I am also just as impressed with their attention to our safety at all times.
Of course, all this would still be lacking if not for the warm, friendly, caring, wonderful Cole family. Doug has a great dry sense of humor and knows so much about Marble Mountain and surrounding areas. Heidi is wonderful and such a trooper to work so hard even with an injured leg. Our families bonded with always smiling Peter on our raft trips and he was so great with our teens. Chelsea was so sweet and we loved having her, Heidi, Danielle & Danick (I'm sure I just mangled the last spelling) helped us in the arena and the beautiful trails. You won't find better shooting guides than Jason and Adam, and Aaron was so helpful in several different areas. Cierra has a beautiful voice and our best wishes to her and Jason on their new baby coming real soon! Did I leave anyone out? If I did, I'll just have to add them to the next review after we come back with even more family members!

Hi Susanna, Thank you for the marvelous and thorough review! I think the only person left out was Jeff, our kitchen help and landscape tech. Oh yea, you forgot Scout, Sakari, Lottie, and Anuk, the 4 K9 queens of the Klamath - the purgers of squirrels, soilers of persian rugs, slayers of loose chickens, and cabin porch monitors.

We also enjoyed your group. The diet constraints can indeed be an additional layer of work for the crew, but we consider the cuisine to rank in number two position, following behind our efforts at risk management. I am glad it worked for you with the special meals. As an aside, I get some personal fun out of dressing up cowboy and shopping the "hippy-groovey" health food store for tofu burgers, gluten free tortillas and the like. I just blend so well with the other patrons! Such Fun!
We look forward to your returns, Doug
