“nothing we could eat”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

on a sampler menu, there was nothing without breading (gluten free). We wound up having to eat small children's plain meat patties which were hard as cardboard and overcooked.

“Good for a (fairly) quick bite”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

Solvang has its limitations on cuisine, and quick but decent is a challenge. Fresco has a coffeeshopish menu, and does a quick meal fairly well. Lunch is order at the counter and they bring it to you, dinner is order at the table. If they were in LA I wouldn't bother with them, but in Solvang they fill a niche.

“always friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

Nobody in town has people skills like the folks at Fresco Cafe, they always greet you with a smile. Terrific fish and chips and much more. I've been coming to restaurants in this location for decades and the place has never looked better. The newly corked tables are intriguing, a lifetime collection under glass. I hope the clam chowder returns some Friday, I miss it.

“Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

After walking and scouting the local bakeries and restaurants to find a place to eat, we stumbled on this hidden gem off the main road. Great wine and beer selections and the food was amazing! Im always hesitant on where to eat in touristy locations where the food is more likely to be mediocre and who knows how often they turn around their food. I had the tri tip sandwich with potato salad and my wife had a caprese sandwich and fries. They blew us away with how everything was made fresh to order and from scratch. Even the condiments were made from in house! The tri-tip was moist and juicy. Im not a fan of horse radish, but always adventurous when it comes to when there are different variations from when vendors make it themselves. I liked theirs! Their fries are made fresh to order and not frozen. The atmosphere is intimate and quiet, away from the busy main road. The customer service was excellent with great recommendations and attentiveness.

“Great find, flavorful food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We had a hard time finding good food in Solvang and this is a treat. We went there for lunch and while it is not cheap (12-14$ for a wrap) you get very fresh, flavorful food and a lot of it. My wrap was enough for two meals and came with a side salad. Did not see the indoor sitting area but they had a nice garden patio that was popular on the Sunday we visited. This is truly the best food we have had in town in Solvang. Next time we'd try it for an early dinner. They even have some fun doggie items on the menu.
