We have stayed several times at the Mirabelle Inn in Solvang, most recently at the end of October 2012. It's a very welcoming and relaxing place. The staff and management are really incredible, first rate. The restaurant is terrific, with delicious, imaginative choices and extremely high-quality, fresh selections. Breakfast is wonderful, and in the afternoon they offer a nice array of complimentary wines, cheese, savories and sweets. The outdoor patio is lovely. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed. The location in town is ideal. Ever so slightly off the main drag, but within a five-minute walk of pretty much anything you'd want to do in town, including numerous wine-tasting opportunities. Less expensive options are available to be sure, but the value here is great. We wouldn't stay anywhere else. And it's only a few minutes' drive to a variety of attractions, wineries and recreational activities. Highly highly recommended. Wish the towels were a bit softer, but otherwise this place is perfect.

This Inn is absolutely lovely and the staff even better! The Inn is beautifully decorated - the
atmosphere is calm and peacefull. You really do feel like a guest in a friend's home.
The breakfast was perfect -not a lot of heavy food and the wine tasting in the parlor is a great way to start off the evening. We didn't have a chance to try the restaurant but the menu looks superb! We will be back. Natasha is a great hostess...

Ok, so state of mind is important when awarding "stars" to a hotel, but even after intercontinental travel and uncertain plans, our welcome and room at the Mirabelle were bliss. We had a lovely large room, huge bed, fireplace, table & chairs, sofa etc, beautifully decorated, plus a living room with balcony - perfect for a glass of wine after a long day's travelling!
The staff are incredibly welcoming, and couldn't have been more helpful. Even by typical Californian "have a nice day" standards! Often official 5* hotels "help" and offer services, but the warmth isn't there. That is so not the case at the Mirabelle - a genuine interest in guests enjoying their stay was evident in everything the staff did and said.
I am fussy, and generally manage to find somethign that's not perfect wherever I stay. At the Mirabelle it was the bathroom, fitted in the 70s or maybe 80s so starting to look a bit dated, and needing a bit of manouevering to get round the basin/toilet/shower. But like I say, I'm fussy, and this was so irrelevant in comparison to the rest of our stay I'm not sure why I even bother to mention it.
Every evening, wine tasting, a selection of local wines to help yourself, with cheese, bread and sweet snacks. (Bad for someone who needs to think about what they eat, particularly coming back late at night after a good dinner when a piece of fresh cake is sooo tempting...)
Breakfast freshly prepared and different each day: scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, fresh fruit salad, fresh pastries (Danish, of course...)
Absolutely somewhere we'd return to if ever we go back to Solvang, and the same room again!

We stayed at the Mirabelle Inn over the long weekend celebrating Danish Days. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was very nice. We treated ourselves to the Chef's Menu (a four course dinner paired with wine at each course) and it was outstanding (though a bit pricey, but we're worth it ;-) ). The complementary breakfasts we a delight as well. They had wine and hors d'oeuvres in the afternoon for the guests; as well as a nice selection of teas and cookies into the evening. It's within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants of Solvang. We'll be coming back probably during a less hectic weekend or weekdays stay.
