I stayed at the Petersen Village Inn on business. Things got off to a bad start when the gentleman taking my bags to my room couldn't answer a simple question: "What is the situation with Internet access?" "I dunno." Gee, thanks for the 1-Star answer.
As it turns out, the Inn has free wireless broadband, which is a huge plus when you're there on business. You'd think the Inn would let their employees know about it. Instead, I had to open my laptop to find out.
Another complaint is that they pipe loud classical music into the hallways--so loud that you can hear it in your room until fairly late at night. Thank you, but I prefer to choose when to hear music, and what to listen to in my room.
The bed was very nice. The room was large, but the bathroom was small. There is no fan in the toilet area, which I consider to be unacceptable. Also, if you happen to be of the gender that stands when you relieve yourself, in the room I was staying in, this means you're looking out onto a hallway and stairway. If the timing had been right, I could wave to people as I do my business. The lace curtains were inadequate for privacy, given the location of the window.
At approximately $300 a night, I expect much better attention to detail.
