I ate here twice while on a business trip in June 2006. The menu was contemporary and the food was fresh, tasty and nicely presented. My co-worker and I both enjoyed our meals a lot... loved the fish and sweet potato fries. Service was attentive and courteous without being intrusive. The second night that we went, we were treated to some wonderful live jazz music. It was a little pricey by my standards, but well worth it. I highly recommend it!
I love this place...I've been here for breakfast and dinner. The food adds a great twist to the ordinary...like 'pineapple upside down pancakes' (my favorite) and the 'Not so Fish & Chips'. Both great! Also love the large muffins in the morning. Great outdoor seating, especially in the summer.
There has been a change in ownership, since I first started going here, but I'm glad they kept the menu and the change was seamless.
Fresh ingredients, creative menu, and outdoor dining make this a very good restaurant. We sat outside on a nice sunny morning and had a memorable late breakfast with the family. Though our waitperson was a little challenged, the quality of the food is outstanding and the portions are huge. I can't wait to return for dinner and drinks.
Every time we go down to the San Diego area we make a point to have breakfast at the Beach Grass Cafe. Their menu is really intriguing and different. We've eaten there 4 or 5 times now and can't say enough about it.
On our last visit to San Diego, we stayed in Solana Beach and while walking stumbled onto the "Beach Grass Cafe". I had a wonderful latte and we had a great breakfast. They had some unusual offerings and a great atmosphere.
