No, that’s not a typo. The “Surf-n-turf” dish was definitely “Surf-n-tough”. The steak was not the best cut of meat, and it was quite tough. However, the lobster portion was good. We also ordered nachos, which weren’t made correctly the first time they came out. Then on their second attempt, the cheese wasn’t melted.
Overall, we were not very impressed with the quality of the food here. Of course, there aren’t too many restaurants in the area, so perhaps this is the best choice. The service was good, and the atmosphere was nice. If I’m ever in the area again, I would probably give this place another try. I feel like it has the potential of being really good. Maybe we were just unlucky. I know we were unlucky that evening in the casino, so that makes sense!
We didn’t stay in the casino’s hotel, but I suspect it’s not cheap. We stayed down the road at the Ship Ashore resort, which was quite economical and perfectly fine. This was a little road trip up to West Coast Game Park, which we really enjoyed. There is a sea cave even farther up the coast which looked pretty cool (sealioncaves.com), but we didn’t have time to drive all the way up there. Maybe next time.
