“Great Property!”

Best Western Posada Royale Hotel & Suites

I thought this Best Western was a great value for the price.
The beds are extremely comfortable, with new pillow-top
mattresses. The room included a refrigerator, coffee maker,
microwave, and iron. There is a room safe, however they aren't activated. I asked the front desk clerk why, and she said they got them from a Las Vegas hotel and they were never activated. Not sure why that is, but they do offer safe deposit boxes at the front desk.

I chose this property because of the proximity to the Reagan Library which is only 2 miles away. There are several places to eat within 2 miles in either direction.

The hotel was quiet, had a great air conditioner and nice furniture. A hot breakfast is included and features a made to order omelet bar. I would definitely stay here again.

“Great Choice of Place to Stay”

Best Western Posada Royale Hotel & Suites

This is a great place to stay in Simi Valley. It is 5 minutes from the Reagan Presidential Library. Our room was very comfortable - large and vaulted celing. Included in the very reasonable cost was free high speed internet, refrigerator and a full breakfast. Full breakfast is buffet and omelets made to order. Sharing the parking lot is The Elephant Bar - a reasonably priced bar/restaurant with great atmosphere.

A previous post mentioned wine and cheese in the afternoon. There was coffee in the pleasant lobby area but I didn't see any wine and cheese. It was too cool to swim during our visit but it looked like a very nice pool area too.

The people at the front desk were pleasant and helpful - not at all like another previous post.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to a business or vacation traveler.

Checked in after a long road trip at 4 PM. Staff extremely friendly and welcoming. We were offered our pick of rooms and took a second floor room overlooking the pool area. Room clean, quiet, spacious and had a vaulted ceiling, which added to the sense of spaciousness.

Complimentary wine buffet in early evening -- set in lobby in front of fireplace with warm fire -- very pleasant, with choice of wines, two cheeses, and crackers. Complimentary fresh coffee, tea & hot chocolate also available in the lobby.

Staff very helpful when asked for restaurant recommendation after listening to what we were looking for -- suggested we walk across the parking lot to Elephant Bar, which we did. Worked great for us -- we stayed within our budget (stayed away from the alcoholic drinks) and the restaurant was family friendly. Later asked hotel staff for recommendation on drug store nearby -- again, helpful suggestion of driving a few blocks to Albertson's.

Nice little Fitness Center on hotel site and had a good work out.

Complimentary breakfast in AM was full American style with fresh fruit, omelettes, meats, yogurt, potatoes, cereal, juice, coffee -- the whole nine yards. Staff very friendly upon check-out.

Hotel located just a five minute drive from the Reagan Library. Extremely convenient.

In reading previous reviews, can only comment that following the old adage "Check in Early" will help greatly, no matter where you stay.

Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again.

At one time (not too long ago) there were very few hotels in the area where I could put guests up for the night. When the need arose, I booked them into the Posada Royale, and they were generally pleased. Since the hotel changed hands less than two years ago, my out of town guests increasingly grumbled, so I decided to stay at the Posada Royale for a couple of nights, myself. Boy, am I glad I did. The service is lousy, the place is deteriorating, the breakfast has become pathetic, and the impression one gets is that "money isn't the most important thing - it's the ONLY thing." Fortunately several other properties have been constructed in the area (a Courtyard just up the street, and another one about to open in the adjacent city), several new Hilton brands, and more. I can't imagine why someone would take over a lovely hotel and run it into the ground, but it appears that this is what has happened. What I regret the most is that in the last couple of years I suggested to several others that they use this hotel. They'll probably never listen to me again! To add insult to injury, the prices have risen considerably, as well. It may now be a "Best Western," but in my book the Posada Royale has reached the end of its trail.
