“Love, love, love this hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

I have been a returning customer for 6 years now and just love everything about this hotel! The management has changed recently and the prices have gone up, is the only thing different lately. But the rooms are clean, very quiet, so quiet, that there have been wedding parties going on til midnight and you can't hear anything in the rooms at all! The grounds are lushly landscaped, and the pool and jacuzzi have been recently renovated. There is a free complimentary full breakfast that has an omelette station and a good variety of hot and cold foods which is awesome! Elephant bar is next door which BW used to have coupons for, but not now with the new mgmt. One time we had no hot water due to an issue the hotel was having, so we were given a free night stay for our next visit, which came in handy and was truely appreciated. The only problem I would say, is that we usually book a double queen room for approx 100$ a night, and now the same rooms are $199 a night, so we ended up staying at the Grand Vista instead because we just can't afford the price hike. Otherwise, this is my favorite hotel is Simi~!!!

I stayed here for 5 nights. The rooms and hallways are nicely carpeted and draped. Flat screen TV provided lots of channels and easy to use remote control. Bathrooms could use a little updating. The property does not have an elevator. Rooms feature a mini fridge and a microwave and a sink in the kitchenette area. I found the reception staff friendly and for the most part, helpful. When Erin could not provide me with a fork, James came to my rescue with a knife, fork and a plate. Thank you so much! Repair of message feature on room phone was requested, but not fixed. Security boxes in room don't work and the thermostat was very old and did not work efficiently. In my 5 nights there I never could get it appropriately set. The swimming pool is in a quiet garden and provided a much need relaxation area. Gardens could use a little work by a gardener. There is no restaurant, but right next door is the Elephant Bar & Restaurant which I enjoyed for a couple of light lunches and one dinner. Hotel was quite busy, so chambermaid attention to the rooms was very delayed. I thought the breakfast, with a manned omelet station & many choices, was more than adequate. Overall, I enjoyed my stay there for a family reunion.

I thought the room was a bit overpriced at $130, the ice machine was broken with a sign stating there was another one on the second floor, I'm not able to do stairs. This room had two double beds which were comfortable but during the night I kept hearing metal clanging noises which really bothered me. This was room 121, I looked when I left in the morning and it seemed to be some laundry room or something. I told the checkout clerk of the noise when I checked out and he only said, "that's too bad". He didn't seem to concerned or caring. The breakfast was nice.

We visited the Simi Valley area for a family wedding and had an exceptional time at this Best Western Hotel for five nights. It was easy to find and was centrally located so we could connect easily to nearby freeways to visit the LA metro area attractions. The people at the desk throughout our visit were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet with a king bed, large flat-screen television, a wet bar area with a small refrigerator and microwave. There was no restaurant but they offered a free hot buffet each morning starting at 6 a.m. The food and selection varied each day. Some days the breakfast personnel brought us our coffee and drinks and cleared off the tables in a timely manner and other days they were only efficient in collecting our breakfast vouchers as soon as we walked into the room. One of the most fun and enjoyable events while staying at this hotel was the free wine each evening Monday through Thursday. They served a variety of California wines along with cheese and crackers in the very nicely furnished lobby area from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This was a great way to wind down the day! The grounds were nicely kept and offered plenty of free parking. We would highly recommend this hotel; it made our visit to the LA area very enjoyable.

Room Tip: Tell the desk clerks what you want and they will definitely try to meet your needs.

The good: Quiet, easy to find. The room was very very nicely appointed, large and clean, beds were comfortable, nice 42" flat screen TV. Staff was courteous. The breakfast was very good (homemade omlet made to order), Fresh fruit, etc. The pool was good size and heated. The room did not have one of those "motel style" A/C units but actually was like a house.

The less good: Didn't have an elevator AFAICT. The room door handle would only work if you lifted it up. The bathroom needs a major remodel (Tub looked like it had a bad refinish as it had several shades of tan, it didn't drain, the shower bypass would stay up and drip all night if you didn't push it down, no infrared heat lamp (had a squigly CFL bulb instead!) and the exhaust fan didn't seem to exhaust.

The thermostat jumped up in the middle of the night to over 85 degrees which made me wake up in a sweat. Found out that it did that every few hours. There was a bin for pool towels at the pool but it was empty. I asked for bath towels at the front desk, which they had sent to the room but when we went to use them the next morning they were actually bath mats.

The pool could have been cleaner The refrigerator was missing the temperature adjustment knob and it looked like it was possibly run off of an extension cord run from the outlet by the microwave which was behind you as you stood at the refrigerator.

Conclusion: Overall I would say it was a pretty good experience for the price and would probably stay again.

It strange how a chain such as Best Western can be so hit and miss. This one was one of the good ones though. Clean, friendly, and a good breakfast.

After arriving at 9:00 we got a speedy check-in from the friendly and informative staff. Our room was clean and spacious with a sink, refrigerator, and kitchenette type sink in the living area. The large wardrobe made storing our clothes for the next few days very easy.

The bar next door had some great happy hour specials - while not part of the hotel is a nice benefit.

The omelet bar in the morning is a nice touch on top of the traditional continental breakfast. Lots of choices and a friendly omelet maker.

I would certainly stay again if I ever get a chance to travel back to the valley
