“Top Mediteranean fresh food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012 via mobile

Moussaka with eggplant and chicken for one of us, moussaka with potatoes and beef for another. Each came with a scoop of rice, fresh veggies steamed and salad all on a side plate. Third person had lamb kebob plate. All of us raved about our choices. Fourth person tried a sandwich, like a hamburger in a roll, she was not as happy. All meals under $15 each at lunch. Just a bright cafe, no alcohol. Short on atmosphere, go for the food. Just down the hill from Reagan Library.

“Easily my favorite restaurant/café...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012 via mobile

Best shawarma and mediterranean food in this realm. I have tried many different places in the past all over southern and even northern California, but this one is consistently the best! No matter what you order, you will get generous servings with the freshest ingredients. Everything is prepared for you from scratch when you order it. It is all very healthy and tastes wonderous. The service is pleasantly sincere and is very attentive to your presence and needs. The owner is a great man, an active philanthropist, and oversees that everything is top quality. The Turkish coffee is amazingly good and makes expresso become a thing of the past. This place has become a regular stop for me when I want to eat out. :))

Get the small family combo and add a plate of delicious humus. It is the BEST!! The owner, Omar, is a very friendly hands on chef. A must for Mediterranean food lovers.

“Totally an exceptional restaurant in terms of food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We landed this afternoon at Ali Baba and were hungry terribly. I wish there were more starts on TripAdvisor for being exceptional. The interior decor is simply great with few photos hung on walls, tables uncluttered. Omar took our order and he suggested few things we could try as Vegetarians. He got us a Yellow rice with creamy coconut sauce with sauteed veggies and salad. This was amazing. We are from coastal India and have lived all our lives eating dishes made out of coconut and this sauce was simply amazing. My hubby ordered falafel salad and they were so crunchy from outside and softer inside. He was so happy to see we clear plates and my 4 year daughter who is picky most of times made no fuss as everything was so delicious. I was simply blown away with pickles especially the cucumber. Omar was so glad seeing empty plates that he offered us a free Harisa(dessert) which was again so yummy. We packed couple of Baklavas home and they were simply out of world experience for our palates. One place everyone must go is 'Ali Baba Cafe'. I highly recommend this restaurant.
