The staff is as well trained as the Ritz!! Very warm and freinfly atmoshpere. It is a spotless hotle. Very clean. The rooms are really nice and they really have paid attention to the detail. They also serve Starbucks coffee in the lobby and also provise it in the rooms. ITS A GREAT PLACE!!!!!

I loved the Medieival Danish decorating theme, with the landscaped ponds, fountains and swans. The website photos make the grounds look huge, in actuality it was more like a small backyard, nevertheless, I doubt if I could find a hotel with real swans and koi fish anywhere else. That said, my pillows were 7" thick and I couldn't get to sleep. Shower control knob was difficult to operate. Would wish for more trees to block view of highway and/or parking lot. The restaurant was not the usual vinyl/plastic coffee house, instead had carved wood w/ medieval theme...but my french toast breakfast was served cold, a total disappointment if that's your budgeted restaurant meal of the day....booked with priority rewards, got an early check-in and a switch from parking lot view to pool view. Jets in the whirlpool took a day to get up to max power, and outdoor pool was not heated.

  • Liked — Exterior architecture, landscaping, swans and koi fish
  • Disliked — Pillows too thick, restuarant served cold food, pool unheated, shower control hard to maneuver

I would highly recommend this place. The hotel is higher priced than the other two nearby hotels (both look rather dumpy, dark and scary!) but it is well worth the price!! Rooms were clean & comfortable, great shower heads--comfortable beds. The Spike and Rail restaurant served an excellent breakfast. The hotel lobby served the BEST fresh scones and Starbucks coffee (complimentary) The only thing I was somehat disappointed in was the "fitness center"--only a few "archaic" machines!!! And a couple were out of order at that!! But----everything else about the hotel I loved and would go back again!!

  • Liked — showers
  • Disliked — the fitness center

We were very pleased with this hotel when we arrived. A warm welcome and the room was acceptable. We then went to the restaurant. We ordered steaks, mine medium rare and my husband's well done. My husband had to send his meal back 3 times before the steak was cooked to his liking and each time it came back he had another baked potato. He has a good appetite but 3 baked potatoes in one meal! My steak went back because it was overcooked, came back still over cooked but at that point I gave up and ate what I was given. My husband's salad never arrived and I had to ask 3 times for the glass of wine I had ordered. We feel that the restaurant lets the hotel down.

Nice room, standard hotel buffet breakfast fare. Pool and hot tub in good repair. The freeway traffic, trains going by and the night time construction going on made it difficult to fall asleep though.

Stayed here for 1nt in mid-May. We were driving between SFO and LAS, and this was a good stopover point. We phoned ahead, based on the reviews on TripAdvisor, and booked a 1bdrm suite for our family of 5 (parents, 3kids aged 15,14,12yrs). The suite was 2rooms with bathroom.

The bedroom had 2queen beds - very firm matresses, but quite comfortable. The sofabed in the lounge was terrible! My son found it uncomfortable and my husband felt sorry for him and moved out there - he ended up folding the bed up and sleeping on the couch... The lounge area also did not have blackout curtains, while the bedroom area did. It would be nice for them to have blackout curtains in any room that someone is going to be sleeping in...

Overall, we found this hotel to be overpriced (we paid over $200 for the one night!) for the quality that you get.
