the"new" Stella's which recently re-opened in its new location at russian river winery (the old Topolos) has clearly lost its luster. from rural elegance it has deteriorated to wobbly tabled funk. the setting is nice enough with a rustic cabana feel and the waitstaff is eager and inexperienced. one generic wine glass for all varietals, when i order a 50.00 pinot i want a burgundy glass .call me fussy... hell they're connected to a winery! the food is so-so. crab cakes were sufficient. salad overdressed but, again " ok" ! trouble is.... the place used to be great!!! i understand the owner chef is opening up a steakhouse at stella's old location next to mom's apple pie. maybe he's over extended. i dont know and may never find out. with zillions of great choices out here.... ill go elsewhere. and its too bad because stella's WAS a local favorite.
