“Very comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

Stay was over Fourth of July holiday. The room is spacious, clean, comfortable. The only issue we had was when you step out of the shower you need to be aware that the tile floors are very slippery. Having a fridge in the room is a great perk. The location is great for going to the beach or walking thru the shops on Main street.

Clean and well maintained and the staff are wonderful. Close to Long Beach attractions and the State University. Seal Beach Main Street is two blocks away. Walk to dining and the ocean. Live music at the pier on Wednesday evenings. We will most certainly return.

We tend to stay more at a Hilton or Boutique hotels. We found Pacific Inn due to the close proximity to the beach to surf and close to where our friends live. I was a bit dismayed when I drove up but that soon went away. Service is outstanding. No charge for parking. Rooms are remodeled and extremely clean and comfortable and its literally 2-3 blocks away from the beach. Breakfast is a plus and FREE. I would absolutely stay here again!!! Thank You!

Seal Beach is a lovely town, the fairly quiet beach with pier and "main street" are all within walking distance. The town is much bigger than it appears with plenty of shopping and restaurants in a short driving distance.

I was disappointed to find that the pictures of both the hotel and the swimming pool area on the website were exaggerated. The pool was very small and lukewarm. The hot tub was nice and a great temp. The pool area is actually in the center of the hotel on the second floor and visible to all guests entering and exiting their rooms on both the second and third levels. There is no solid roof above the pool, but in June the temperature was warm enough to not matter.

We also experienced the same issue with towels as "longday1." Every day we had two washrags, two hand towels and four bath towels. We had a party of five. We stayed three nights. We had to continually ask for more towels and washrags and often were given bath towels instead of wash rags. One delivery of towels left us with about 10 bath towels and still only two washrags, in spite of our clear request. In addition, the pool area never had towels, so we had to ask for them every time we visited the pool.

The beds were really comfortable. The room was too small for us, so "note to self" for next visit. The bathroom was spacious but the door to the bathroom and the closet were the same sliding opaque glass and bathroom was seen whenever room door was open. Not ideal. Our balcony looked across the street at Taco Bell and McDonalds. There is no view of the beach from the hotel.

The hotel has no self-serve laundry, but there is a laundromat two blocks away.

The breakfast was the highlight of our stay. Although the sausage links, scrambled eggs and roasted potatoes served every morning were of low quality, there were many other options. Yogurt cups, frozen burritos you could microwave, hard boiled eggs, waffle maker, several types of bread, english muffins, bagels to toast and all the spreads to go with, many types of name-brand cereals, four types of juice, coffee and tea and some pre-packaged pastries and muffins. In the main office, there was a coffee brewer serving two types of Starbucks coffee and hot chocolate and fresh, warm white chocolate macadamia cookies in the afternoons.

Overall, the hotel met our minimum needs. The fridge and microwave in the room were useful. The space was too small and the distance to the hotel from the theme parks we were visiting was too far. Going to and from Hollywood was a traffic nightmare. It was fairly easy driving towards San Diego, but just stay away from the toll roads. There is no advantage. It took us about 5 extra minutes to go I-5 instead of toll road route 73. Cost is $6.75 one-way. I am glad we got to visit this lovely town, but it's highly unlikely we would stay again. The purpose of our visit was to get to enjoy the beach between activities, but we didn't really have time and it was a long walk back from our one short visit with wet and sandy clothes.

Considering all the other sub par hotels in the area this place is great! Very friendly staff, always ready to help and happy to go the extra mile yo explain things. Rooms were very clean, TV worked fine location was great. Only thing is Internet was working great on the day for which staff apologised profusely! Recommend!

That pretty much says it all. Just a couple of blocks stroll to restaurant row and the beach made this a fantastic stopover. The hotel itself though? Meh, not so much.

Despite booking in as a family of 4, the room was set up for 2. Repeated calls and visits to the reception desk about extra towels and the needed roll-away bed (that was noted on the reservation) took up way more of our relaxation time than it should have. We were told that the bed couldn't be delivered until the shuttle driver returned, so I guess the poor guy does double duty. Yet, we didn't receive the bed for hours after his scheduled return which was just a hassle.

The pool claims to be indoor heated, which I guess may be technically correct if you, like Pharrell Williams, feel like a room without a roof. It's actually in a courtyard in the middle of the hotel, which is fine. Likewise, their definition of "heated" may actually only mean that they've lifted the temperature just enough so that you don't break ice jumping in. The pool was so cold that my hardy eight-year-old dipped a toe in and immediately recoiled. On the other hand, the hot tub was piping hot.

The service was crap. No other word for it. We felt like we were nothing more than an annoying imposition.

We skipped the free breakfast in favor of one of the cute diners down the road, so I can't tell you if that made up for some of the other failings.

This was my first time at this hotel and my husband and I would stay here again. It was very close to Main Street with many cute shops and places to eat. We found parking to be a bit of a challenge on the property, but street parking was available. We would definitely stay here again as the beds were comfortable and the rooms were decent. We look forward to staying here again!
