“Great!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2014

Considering all the other sub par hotels in the area this place is great! Very friendly staff, always ready to help and happy to go the extra mile yo explain things. Rooms were very clean, TV worked fine location was great. Only thing is Internet was working great on the day for which staff apologised profusely! Recommend!

That pretty much says it all. Just a couple of blocks stroll to restaurant row and the beach made this a fantastic stopover. The hotel itself though? Meh, not so much.

Despite booking in as a family of 4, the room was set up for 2. Repeated calls and visits to the reception desk about extra towels and the needed roll-away bed (that was noted on the reservation) took up way more of our relaxation time than it should have. We were told that the bed couldn't be delivered until the shuttle driver returned, so I guess the poor guy does double duty. Yet, we didn't receive the bed for hours after his scheduled return which was just a hassle.

The pool claims to be indoor heated, which I guess may be technically correct if you, like Pharrell Williams, feel like a room without a roof. It's actually in a courtyard in the middle of the hotel, which is fine. Likewise, their definition of "heated" may actually only mean that they've lifted the temperature just enough so that you don't break ice jumping in. The pool was so cold that my hardy eight-year-old dipped a toe in and immediately recoiled. On the other hand, the hot tub was piping hot.

The service was crap. No other word for it. We felt like we were nothing more than an annoying imposition.

We skipped the free breakfast in favor of one of the cute diners down the road, so I can't tell you if that made up for some of the other failings.

I am terribly sorry to hear you had such a disappointing stay with us. Here at The Pacific Inn, we pride ourselves on the guest service we provide as we feel it is one of the more outstanding features of our hotel. We would love to get in contact with you so that we may better understand where exactly our service was lacking in your stay. Please do not hesitate to give us a call at (562) 493-7501. We look forward to hearing from you and once again I do apologize for the issues with your stay.

This was my first time at this hotel and my husband and I would stay here again. It was very close to Main Street with many cute shops and places to eat. We found parking to be a bit of a challenge on the property, but street parking was available. We would definitely stay here again as the beds were comfortable and the rooms were decent. We look forward to staying here again!

This hotel is about 2 blocks away from the ocean. The rooms are great, with modern finishes. Small microwave and mini fridge. All rooms have a balcony. Pool area was great, with hot tub for soaking after a long day at the beach. Breakfast area is small, about 6 tables, but enough food for everyone, including waffle maker, eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, juices, cereal. They were so accomodating, and provided us beach chairs, boogie boards and water bottles to take to the beach. Very friendly staff. This was our second trip to this hotel. It's a well kept secret at a great location, within walking distance to Main Street for lots of shopping, and the beach.

Room Tip: Our King Bed only had shower, and 2 Doubles had a tub.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. We have taken our son to the Catalina Sea Camp the last couple of years and stayed here before we dropped him off for the week. We really enjoy the atmosphere of the entire Seal Beach area. The hotel is very close to Main Street where all the action is and a few blocks to the beach. We even walked to Church that we found, no need for a car even though they have a nice covered parking area. This year we asked if we could rent a boogie board and some beach chairs to spend some time at the beach and the just loaned us some. It made our visit to the beach much nicer. The hotel is not super luxurious, but very comfortable a good value for what we paid. The pool is nice, but the only things that may need improvement for the value recieved might be the breakfast (the hot breakfast especially is not something I could eat) and the lock on our door and on the pool were tricky to open. Overall a fun place to stay.

This hotel was in a great location. Just a couple blocks from main and a few more to the beach. If you are looking for a luxurious hotel, this is not it. If you are looking for a friendly staff and a clean room in a convenient location, this is definitely it. We had an issue with a clogged toilet but it was resolved very quickly. I was on the 3rd floor and it was mostly quiet but I will warn you that the walls seem to be pretty thin at least where the adjoining room doors are. I could hear some conversation from my neighbors pretty clearly but I assume they were standing by the door. Overall, I had a good experience and would stay there again.

Room Tip: If you like to keep your balcony door open for fresh air, request a back side room, not on Marina Dr...

Thanks for the awesome review! As our property is very old, we are constantly striving to achieve the "luxurious" feel. Any feedback or suggestions are greatly appreciated on how we can improve this factor!

We've been in this hotel for 10 days in October 2012.
Good value for the price paid, nice position (not far from the beach, and not far from the downtown). Rooms are essential but confortables and clean. Breakfast is not full but, not so bad. Nice jacuzzi pools.
