This hotel is a great place to stay. Easy access off the freeway, close to stores (CVS, Target, Kohl's, Bed Bath and Beyond) and very comfortable accomodations. Big and clean rooms and if you stay on the 3rd floor, there are high ceilings. Free complimentry breakfast and free newspapers, both USA Today and a local newspaper. Staff is extremely professional and responsive. Small pool and jazuzzi with towels available poolside. Even thought the hotel is located right next to Hwy 405/22, there was very little freeway noise and my room was facing the freeway.

Just a great stay at Ayres Seal Beach. I really needed a good night sleep in the middle of a very hectic business trip and that's exactly what they delivered. Room was very comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast generous. Location convenient. Check in and check out handled with outmost professionalism. What more can I say?

I was booked in this hotel for a visit to California State University, Long Beach--which is about ten minues away. (I later learned that the university uses this facility because it will bill them directly for sponsored stays.)

At any rate this is a remarkably good hotel. The staff were friendly and responsive; the rooms were done in the style that I call "boutique"--that is not Danish modern. But my room was very clean, and very quiet even though it faced the San Diego Freeway (405)..

I suppose that that is what makes the hotel a bit different--it's like a boutique facility in, say, San Francisco, in a Holiday Inn location. There are several restaurants nearby and it is about a two and a half block walk to a shopping mall wth a full Ralph's Grocery and a Target, CVS pharmacy and other shops. Of coure this is Southern California so no one thinks of walking such a long distance!!! The complementary breakfast is very nice--fresh cooked eggs if you want, pancakes or French Toast, cereals, rolls and breads, fresh fruit and juices.

Anything wrong with this place. Well not really, except that it has no other food service (not even a vending machine that might have cookies or crackers) but the grocery is close by and my room had a fridge, a microwave and a coffee-maker. The only notable shortcoming is the airconditioning. It has two settings. Off or Gale Force Winds aka 'on' I found the draft to be a bit uncomfortable and left my second room key in the 'energy-saver slot, put the temperature down quite a bit and left the room. Once cooled, I left the AC off for most of the time..

The Ayres family has some other hotels in the area, and they are probably just as nice, allthough his appears to be one of the newest in the chain. Highly recommended.

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times in the past, and once again we have NOT been dissapointed. It is a european boutique type of hotel. The hallways to the 3-story hotel are well appointed-in fact it is hard to find any painted walls. They are are covered with beautiful wallpaper. Our room had 2 comfortable queen beds, although 1 large king bed is available as well. Each bed had 4 pillows. Weekend stays are about $25 cheaper per night. The rooms are very spacious, with high ceilings. The area is relatively quiet, even though it is adjoining the intersection of I-405 aand Seal Beach Boulevard.
The bathroom is nice as well, with large tile on the floor and partially up the wall. Small, but thick bars of soap, hair conditioner and shampoo is provided. They will tell you at the front counter to use your room key (card) to turn on the lights in your room (there is a slot on the wall to place it). Once you remove it all the lights will go off - it's a energy saver for the hotel when you leave your room.
A cook is present making everything fresh for your free morning breakfast. It may consist of either bacon, ham, sausage, plus hash brown potatoes, the usual cereals, juices, coffee, fruit slices, etc. The eating area will seat about 40 people, but overflow can go to the adjoining courtyard.
The hotel staff were very pleasant from check-in to check-out. There is ample parking here too.
We cannot think of a better place to stay in the immediate area than at this hotel. We will be back again!

My family and I made an excellent decision when we selected the Ayers Hotel, Seal Beach. Conveniently located at the seal beach blvd. exit of the 405 the hotel is a breath of fresh air. The only drawback, if any, is that it is about five miles or so from the beach and the main town of seal beach itself, other than this I can't really think of any issues that we encountered. The breakfast buffet, FREE, was good and saved a family of four at least a hundred dollars over the course of our stay. The pool isn't the biggest in the world but it is heated and the jacuzzi right next to it is of above average size. All of the grounds are extremely clean from the parking lots to the restrooms in the lobby area. The rooms, we had 2 queens, are very nicely done and are much larger than the average hotel room. The bathroom had tile flooring and the sink area was separated from the toilet and the shower/tub which allows someone to use the restroom while another person can utilize the sink area. All in all we had a great stay at this property and I would not hesitate to stay here again when next in seal beach. The other great thing about this hotel is that the parking is free and that seems to be getting difficult to find in California anymore...
