If I hadn't been on my honeymoon I would have given it a lower rating. We stayed 3 nights and the annoyances began to build up.
First the positives:
The view is awesome and it accounts for about 1 star. I saw two gorgeous sunsets. The continental breakfast is good with a lot of fresh fruit and delicious muffins. The coffee is great too. We enjoyed having our breakfast in bed one morning. When we needed to use our car it was retrieved promptly.
Now the negatives:
Did anyone else notice the pungent musky Old Spice smell that permeates the room? Hermes products may be expensive but they smell like grandpa's shave lotion. I told the front desk about it and the lady agreed. There was no offer to make a suggestion to management. One afternoon we didn't feel like going out to dinner so wee ordered some Chinese delivery. Someone from the hotel staff graciously gave us plates and silverware from the breakfast room. However we mentioned to the front desk twice that we needed the dirty plates removed. They weren't and we ended up putting them by our front door. The next morning the plates were still there.
The bed that was hyped on the hotel website was nothing special. We have recently stayed in Sheratons and Hiltons that had much better mattresses and bed linens. The bathroom was disappointing too. Aside from the aforementioned nasty smelling bath products the shower was very substandard. I felt like I was going to slip. The shower curtain barely did its job. The drain stopper kept flipping down causing water to stand. The toilet had a very strange flushing system. You had to hold down this button on the top of the tank for at least 5 seconds for anything to happen.
The room was very small for the price. There was a small sitting area but the chairs were not too comfy. I also missed the bedside table that would normally have been on my side of the bed.
