We (my wife and 6 month old) visited SF and stayed at Cavallo in September. The hotel and the grounds are magnificient.
The service is great, we had no problems with check-in and the staff were very helpful with all our baby gear. The hotel gave us a complimentary upgrade to a suite in the historic buildings and it was incredible. The buildings are old, but have incredible character. There are a lot of nice touches such as complimentary croissants and coffee in the morning in the lobby and tea and water in the rooms.
It is a short walk to the water where seals and birds frolic. Deer are seen in the trees. It is very easy to drive to SF from Cavallo Point and there are innumerable trails for hiking and biking.
In summary, I could not find anything to complain about at this hotel. It is in a beautiful setting, the rooms are comfortable and well appointed and the service is first class. I would happily bring my family back.
