“Comfortable Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

Escaped to the Inn at Saratoga after two days in San Francisco. What a gem of a place in the middle of seemingly nowhere! What a nice surprise to have a large, clean, very comfortable room overlooking the ravine. The king bed was so comfortable and we slept so well here in the country especially after two days of hiking at Big Basin and Castle Rock. Nice to have hors d'oeuvres served at the end of the day and even nicer to have them on the outdoor patio. In the evening, we were very happy to pick up food and a bottle of wine and return to the Inn's patio, eat our dinner and relax with a book thereafter. Breakfast included a good selection of carbs and protein and a very nice platter of fresh fruit. I recommend this inn without hesitation!

What a wonderful dose of encouragement, Carol! We loved welcoming you after your time in busy San Francisco, and I'm happy to hear our comfy rooms and hors d'oeuvres made all the difference to your stay. We'd love to welcome you back the next time you're in California!

Take care,

Wonderful place......great staff, old charm and beautiful rooms. Grew up in Saratoga, and came back for a fun trip. Comfy bed, good simple breakfast, wine reception at night (left our almost full bottle for them to serve up later...they were very appreciative)....close to anything bay area, with a wonderful setting....wonderful!! Anyone who can find something wrong at the price for where you are is crazy.....10 minutes from great concerts too.....go visit the bank for a cocktail...little slice of back east neighborhood bar in an upscale environment...you can walk to it!!

Room Tip: we were on 4th floor....I think they go up down for people if possible....4th floor gets you access...

It's always a lot of fun welcoming back a former Saratoga local, Robby, and we're so glad you think of our place as a "little slice of heaven!" I'm looking forward to sharing your praises with the rest of the team. Here's hoping it won't be long before we get to see you again!

This is a wonderful little hotel snuggled in the adorable town of Saratoga. It backs up to the park and our room had a huge picture window overlooking the park, which provided lots of privacy - I said to my husband that I felt like we were in our own private den while we read the Sunday paper (daily papers delivered to your hotel room and big comfortable chairs). Yummy breakfast and they have a happy hour every evening. There is an entrance on the 4th floor that walks out to the main street which was very convenient to walk around the shops. I would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: the rooms below the 4th floor are only one side facing the park. Not sure if there are rooms on the...

Knowing that you and your husband felt like you were in your own "private den" has really made me smile, Pam! It's our pleasure to provide you with your own space and privacy during your time with us, and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed our breakfast spread and happy hour, too. We can't wait to welcome you back before too long!

We were in Saratoga for a wedding. The Inn is situated next to a park ,so the patio has the feel of being in the woods. The room was very large, comfortable, and with all the amenities needed. Breakfast was included. A nice touch was the wine and cheese available in the lobby each evening. We enjoyed a lovely relaxing weekend and would return.

It's wonderful to know that your weekend with us was so relaxing and comfortable, Catherine! We like to think the little things can make a big difference to your stay, so I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed our wine and cheese spread so much. I hope you had a fantastic time at the wedding, and that another occasion will bring you back to visit us again soon -- even if that occasion's just a weekend getaway!

The Inn is a great choice. The facility is showing it's age a bit in the decor, but that is easily made up for by the excellent service and idyllic location.

I recently had a reservation snafu w/ a major hotel brand in San Jose and was distraught to find that there was no availability at a reasonable rate within San Jose / Santa Clara. In expanding my search I discovered this gem. A quick 25-30 mins away from San Jose I found an Oasis. Arriving at nearly midnight after flying out from the east coast I was greeted warmly. When I asked if there a was anywhere I could get food, they told me they would be happy to make me a cheese plate and even poured me a much needed glass of wine while I waited.

As others have said, my room was well appointed with an incredibly comfortable bed. Well worth the commute. I decided to extend my reservation and stayed for nearly a week. I would be happy to return.

I can't tell you how lovely it was to read your review! Being described as an "oasis" and a hidden "gem" is exactly the kind of feedback we've aimed for since opening up shop back in 1987. It was our pleasure to welcome you with that much-needed glass of wine, too -- we know how draining a day of travel can be, and how eager our guests are to put their feet up! We can't wait to welcome you back soon for another extended stay.

Nice old fashioned lovely inn. Location is right downtown and perfect for us because it was just one block away from the Plumed Horse. It is just a couple blocks away from a few different winetasting rooms as well.

Staff was very nice. Sent us a bottle of champagne for our anniversary!

The room was spacious with a nice comfy bed. The balcony was a bit odd since it was very small and had only one chair.

No hot tub or pool.

They have an evening reception from 5-7pm with drinks, wine, and hordeouves.

Standard AM continental breakfast. They make it easy so you can eat downstairs, outside on the patio, or in your room.

Overall an excellent stay! Would recommend if going winetasting and want to stay in Saratoga.

Had the privilege of staying at the Inn for a business trip. The place is so pretty, so quiet. The grounds/foliage are beautiful. The rooms are large, very clean. The bed was the most comfortable bed ever. The staff was fantastic. Would go back every chance i could.

Room Tip: all rooms face a little creek and lots of trees....stay away from the 400 numbers rooms near the str...

I can't thank you enough for such a kind recommendation -- it means a lot to know you'd come back at the drop of a hat! We know how important a restful night's sleep is when you're working hard on a business trip, so it's wonderful to hear that yours was the "most comfortable bed ever." I hope we'll get the chance to welcome you back on your next trip to Saratoga!
