Description: With a fresh, de rigueur exterior of barn-red paint, the interior expresses the warmth of a local tavern, using clean lines and a rustic feel. Accented with oak, restored branded wood beams, a white paneled ceiling and wrought iron lighting, the L-shaped room is refreshed, with higher ceilings and massive glass windows that open the space. As before, there is an open display kitchen observing the chefs at work. Newly created for the restaurant is a glass-enclosed wine room flanking the dining room that co-exists with two wood-burning fireplaces preserved from the original Red Barn. Firewood is supplied by the Agin Brothers, the family that has serviced the Nichols family with seasoned wood for ten years. Two wrought iron and rope chandeliers, hand crafted by local blacksmith Hans Duus, illuminate the room and are lighted with replicas of vintage Edison light bulbs, with more of the Edison-styled glass globes accenting the room. The walls are decorated with historical photographs of Los Rancheros Visitores, the club of local horsemen and ranchers dating back to 1929. Salvaged during the construction was wallpaper discovered under layers of paint and paneling, beautifully illustrated with dancing girls, pistols, playing cards and saloons, now preserved, framed, and gracing the dining room walls. JC's handsome bar was created by locals Scott and Chris Bruhn who used a felled pine tree salvaged from Figueroa Mountain to form the expansive bar top.

“Got My Vote”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2015 NEW

We went here of course with my daughter and hubby and my hubby. My first time, loved the atmosphere, had a 5pm reservation, you need one for sure. I took my own bottle of wine and you can take yours, $15 fee, not bad when you think how much a glass would cost. Anyway I had stuffed Idaho trout mm!! the men had a very nice size ribeye, my daughter had pork, everything was wonderful, service really. It.s practically just past Chumash casino and about 10/15 mins from Buelton. I would go again I should have used my open table to reserve byt daughter beat me to it. This place is quite a little pricey, but good food.

“The new Red Barn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2015 via mobile

We watched as the Red Barn closed and the remodel began. For a while it looked as if it would never reopen. When it did it was worth the wait.
We have been in more that once and the food is consistently good & has a very nice atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and attentive but it can be crowded on Friday and Saturday evenings.

“One of the best in Santa Ynez Valley”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2015

The Brothers Restaurant is consistently excellent. Over the years, they have been a favorite of mine through 3 restaurant locations in this area. Their newest location in the village of Santa Ynez is well run with excellent food and service. You have a choice of choosing from the same menu in the bar at high tables or in the restaurant area. The wine selection is great as well.

“Would not miss a chance to eat here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2015

Very down home and mostly locals when we went. Excellent food, well prepared and presented. The menu changes, but I had the best pork chop I have ever eaten. Sides were also excellent as well as desert. Worth going to this wonderful valley just for the dinner here.

“Great food….slow service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2015

Have been here half dozen times or more. Food is always good (especially sole or trout). However, two hours is too long. It was an hour before we got dinner….all service was slow. Took a half hour to get more water. No one even looked at us. It is nicely decorated, but noisy if trying to talk. Took out of town guests, and we were trying to show them one of our best.
