“Nice but not the same with the change of staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2014

This has been one of our favorite romantic get away places. They recently changed owners and many of the staff we had met before were gone. The training of new staff seems to be taking place but not the special service and caring from before. Still love the location and facility. Missed the welcome card and candy or wine for our anniversary and slow service at breakfast. We will return again in a few months to see if they can get back to the absolutely top quality they were before.

We so appreciate you taking the time to write this review. Thank you for making us your getaway to celebrate your anniversary!

I was very disappointed to learn that you were not completely delighted with the service you received during your stay. Turnover is part of any business but the key is to ensure that guests feel the same warm welcome with each and every one of our team. I give you my personal promise that I will work with every member of the staff to help them understand warm and genuine hospitality. We clearly did not live up to your standards, or ours, and For that I certainly apologize.

We thank you again, and look forward to having you back!

This property is settled within The very small town of Santa Ynez - a treat for those who are looking for old Western charm with quiet and surroundings.

The Inn itself is extraordinarily well-maintained and groomed both inside and out - one of the concerns I have about such places is the inability or unwillingness of the owners to manage with attention to detail. Here, the rooms are very well appointed and comfortable, very clean, and distinctive - chandeliers, high ceilings, and fireplaces in rooms. The rooms are authentic in design yet so not feel "old". Public dining room, hallways and staircases are high class all the way.

The breakfast the following morning was plentiful and delicious. Efficient and attentive staff and a relaxed clientele - nobody is here to be seen...like in some "spa" properties. A good balance of attentive service, but Friendly and easy.

Kudos to Armando, a calm, informative and highly competent service professional who runs the Inn. We will return as soon as possible!!

Great service, helpful/friendly staff, and beautiful room. Loved the local wines and cheese served late afternoon, and couldn't resist the red velvet cupcakes and chocolate cookies w/white choc chips, that were served in the evening! It was the perfect place to celebrate our 15th anniversary.

From the moment we walked in the front door, til 4 days later when it closed behind us, we were treated like royalty at the Santa Ynez Inn. The room was spacious, clean, well-appointed and the bathroom was beyond belief with jacuzzi tub and steam shower. Add to that the wine tastings with appetizers every night, desserts before bedtime and a buffet/menu style breakfast every morning and you have very little room left for dining out! The staff was always eager to help in any way and honored every request we had. Need an extra washcloth? At your door within minutes. Need some free wine tastings at local vineyards or tasting rooms? The Inn has worked with them to provide just that. What a terrific, quiet and relaxing, friendly place to stay. We loved every minute.

I had the great fortune to stay at the Santa Ynez Inn with my mother on a mother-daughter trip to the wine country. Not only was the Inn the height of elegance but the staff was unfailingly gracious and welcoming at every turn. Our rooms were beautifully and luxuriously appointed with every amenity and great attention to detail. We have stayed at many five star accommodations throughout the world, but we have rarely encountered this attention to customer service and to the quality of the individual customer's experience. Every person at the front desk was warm and informative and genuinely invested in making sure every guest's experience was optimal. The primary concern of the entire staff and General Manager Rick Segovia is the satisfaction of the guest. We felt extraordinarily fortunate to have found such a gem in this breathtaking region.

Celebrating my sister's 40th birthday with my mom, sister, and I we booked a room with 2Q beds. The room was tastefully decorated and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary wine tasting every evening (different wines to taste each night), the complimentary desserts each evening, and the complimentary breakfast each morning.

The staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They made great recommendations for restaurants and attractions as well as printed directions!

There was bottled water and diet coke in our mini-fridge as well as extra bottled water at the front desk (complimentary). They also have an agreement with some local wineries where we simply showed our room key and had complimentary wine tastings at those wineries (saves $10-$15 per person).

We would definitely return! It was quiet, peaceful, and totally relaxing!

We booked this stay months ago and had to change several times but the staff was always helpful and easy to deal with. Our stay was above expectations. The room was large and well equipped. Everything was provided at not extra cost and was clean, stylish and great to stay in.

The complimentary breakfast was excellent. With only two choices we thought we might have a problem but both days we had no problem at all and they made substitutions easily.

The wine tasting and deserts at night were very nice. I highly recommend this for couples!

Room Tip: I think the top floor was better due to noise and privacy. Elevator for easy access.
