“Not worth the money they charge”

Courtyard by Marriott Santa Rosa

First, they only have doubles, no queen beds. We booked a king, but somehow they lost the reservation with that detail. The pool is rather dirty. Other Courtyards are offering free breakfast in the summer, this hotel has never heard of it and charges a huge amount for their buffet. You must put your name on a wailtlist for a fridge until it come available. Lastly it is very NOISY! We arrived to find a pool of 6 people with their stereo blasting. They were drinking and smoking in the pool and it was filthy. Their ashes were in the pool with them. We removed our children from them and the pool, as they were plain obnoxious and the front desk did nothing. The noise at night was not alot better. For a Courtyard experience and price this hotel does fall short in quality and expectations. I would not go back.

“Very adequate accommodations”

Courtyard by Marriott Santa Rosa

Jul 25, 2007

We stayed at this property because our daughter competed in the Vineman 70.3 Triathlon in late July. We were very fortunate to be able book a room because of the popularity of this race. The property was clean and was staffed by efficient and friendly employees. The bed linens were European style and a much higher quality than I expected. We didn't not try the breakfast buffet. Within walking distance, Aroma Roasters, a local coffee establishment--very good. Also the hotel is within walking distance to some fine dining and casual places. We chose a sushi restaurant that was perfectly decent. The Marriott was very welcoming to the triathletes--had a sheet that made recommendations and suggestions. They provided water, oranges, protein bars on the morning of the race. Location was near 101 but not right next to it--Hyatt next door was right next to the highway.

“Average accommodations, but noisy and iffy staff”

This 2.5 star property was just barely worth the discounted rate I obtained for a friend and myself on Priceline ($100/night on weekend nights: June 29 & 30).
The best things about it were the usually-empty pool and jacuzzi; the clean and up-to-date room furnishings; lots of parking; and the price/location ratio in Sonoma Valley. There was free coffee in the lobby and a publicized "reasonably priced brakfast", but I didn't try these so I can't comment.
The worst thing was the noise. My apartment is noisy but I'm never complaining again after staying on the second floor of this hotel. We could hear conversations in the next room word-for-word, as well as those in the hall. I doubt the staff could or would have done much. Except for one young man, a couple of the younger front desk staff could not give directions to places recommended on the property's website. Pool towels seemed to be handed out only at reception, but when I asked, they only had a grand total of 3 available, even though there was no one at the pool at the time. Although I was promised more would be brought out to me, this is the sort of place where I knew that was never going to happen and it didn't.

My brother's girlfriend works for Marriott, so through her we were able to get a great rate on a room at this property while visiting wineries in the Sonoma area.

The location is excellent! It is within two blocks of several restaurants, breakfast spots and bars and the main freeway that runs through this area. It is also within a 1/2 mile of a major mall, and what seems to be the nightlife area of Santa Rosa.

We found the hotel staff, cleanliness of the property, parking, and general facilties to be excellent. I was a little disappointed that their breakfast was to us rather costly, because it seemed appealng although when we were there we didn't see anyone enjoying it. Warm cookies one night were a great bonus too!

If I were to go to this region again I would definately check the rates at this property first...

“They Renovated the Courtyard by Marriott Santa Rosa”

I recently stayed at the newly renovated Courtyard Santa Rosa. My business brings me to Santa Rosa from time to time. I have stayed at this hotel in the past and it was average, so I found other values. I returned there at the beginning of January and was very impressed to see they were just completing an extensive renovation. The lobby has bright new colors and all their rooms are entirly new with the new Marriott beds (very comfortable) and work desks. I like the curved shower rods and artwork. The staff was very pleasant and I will feel great about returning.
