“Average accommodations, but noisy and iffy staff”

This 2.5 star property was just barely worth the discounted rate I obtained for a friend and myself on Priceline ($100/night on weekend nights: June 29 & 30).
The best things about it were the usually-empty pool and jacuzzi; the clean and up-to-date room furnishings; lots of parking; and the price/location ratio in Sonoma Valley. There was free coffee in the lobby and a publicized "reasonably priced brakfast", but I didn't try these so I can't comment.
The worst thing was the noise. My apartment is noisy but I'm never complaining again after staying on the second floor of this hotel. We could hear conversations in the next room word-for-word, as well as those in the hall. I doubt the staff could or would have done much. Except for one young man, a couple of the younger front desk staff could not give directions to places recommended on the property's website. Pool towels seemed to be handed out only at reception, but when I asked, they only had a grand total of 3 available, even though there was no one at the pool at the time. Although I was promised more would be brought out to me, this is the sort of place where I knew that was never going to happen and it didn't.

My brother's girlfriend works for Marriott, so through her we were able to get a great rate on a room at this property while visiting wineries in the Sonoma area.

The location is excellent! It is within two blocks of several restaurants, breakfast spots and bars and the main freeway that runs through this area. It is also within a 1/2 mile of a major mall, and what seems to be the nightlife area of Santa Rosa.

We found the hotel staff, cleanliness of the property, parking, and general facilties to be excellent. I was a little disappointed that their breakfast was to us rather costly, because it seemed appealng although when we were there we didn't see anyone enjoying it. Warm cookies one night were a great bonus too!

If I were to go to this region again I would definately check the rates at this property first...

“They Renovated the Courtyard by Marriott Santa Rosa”

I recently stayed at the newly renovated Courtyard Santa Rosa. My business brings me to Santa Rosa from time to time. I have stayed at this hotel in the past and it was average, so I found other values. I returned there at the beginning of January and was very impressed to see they were just completing an extensive renovation. The lobby has bright new colors and all their rooms are entirly new with the new Marriott beds (very comfortable) and work desks. I like the curved shower rods and artwork. The staff was very pleasant and I will feel great about returning.

“Anti-Customer Front Desk staff”

My husband and I stayed at this hotel as 1 stop on our Coast roadtrip. I am an avid Snoopy collector/fan and simply had to see the Charles M. Schulz Museum. Let me first explain that we only stay at Marriotts and this was the only one in Santa Rosa.

We made our reservations at least 3 weeks in advance. When we got there, we were told that they gave away the last room that had a King bed and would have to "deal with" a double bed. This trip was for our 1 year anniversary...Need I say more? We drove up from San Francisco and toured the museum first since this sleepy town closes early.

The front desk agent was busily chatting with the manager on staff. I interrupted them so I could check in. I believe that this was originally a different hotel and the Marriott purchased it. In my youth, we stayed at bargain hotels. This Courtyard brought me back to my childhood. The front desk agent & manager were rude, the halls musty, the decor old, the elevator creaky, the beds stiff and to top it off--someone almost hit us in the parking lot!

After our great disappointment, we wanted to be entertained and went to the mall. They closed at 7 or 8pm. We asked the info desk (since we had no concierge) to find something to do and they recommended that we go to San Francisco! If we had known, we would have stayed in San Francisco where that Marriott had far better service! We tried to find somewhere to eat that wasn't closed after that. We found some "Mexican" restaurant and they let us know they were closing so there was not a full menu. It was about 8:15pm and they closed at 9pm!

If you are going to see Snoopy and the Peanuts gang, make it a day trip and do not stay in this city. There are no redeeming qualities to make it worth it.

My daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights. The room was average, 2 queen beds, nice sized bathroom. Breakfast buffet was available for a very moderate price. Hotel has a pool and laundry room for guests' use. I found it to be clean, well-kept and the staff was always helpful. It's across the street from the Hyatt which has a full restaurant and bar area which was great for lunch and dinner. Also nearby are many shops and restaurants in the historic railroad center. It's in a nice, safe area - never felt uncomfortable as two women alone.
