“Close to wine country at a lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2011

Beautiful property, clean large room, great breakfast, and the concierges were VERY helpful. Pool and hot tub were a great place to relax in at the end of a busy day. Computer available in the lobby - we were able to print out our boarding passes before we left.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the end of the hall in the back of the building (our friends were near the front d...

Solid 3 star hotel - not a superstar by any means, but if you can book it by priceline or hotwire, quite a value. Our rooms were stylishly furnished, the pool area seemed a bit small, easy to find off the 101. We didn't even think to take advantage of the concierge service, but he seemed to know just about everything about the area.

This hotel was allocated to me via hot-wire.com. I paid just $69 per night and thought this was an excellent deal for the area.

The hotel us only a short drive from a selection of restaurants and other amenities. Downtown Santa Rosa is Approx 2-3 miles away. While downtown Santa rosa also had Many restaurants, the area had lots of homeless people hanging around on the streets.

The staff on checking in were very friendly and offered to help us find winetasting at local vineyards.

The rooms I found were clean and comfortable, although not enough towels! Loved the small swimming pool area.

A 3 night stay at the Fountaingrove Inn was the launching point for our wine country vacation with another couple. The rooms were clean, quiet and sufficiently spacious for our needs. The staff was extremely accommodating with dining and travel suggestions, making reservations, winery discounts and general advice. A great place to stay, particularly for Sonoma-based vineyard and winery visits.

My wife and I stayed at the Fountaingrove Inn recently for two nights to attend a local wedding. The place is easy to find, has ample parking, large rooms, and was quiet and clean. There is no elevator, but you can park in the back and access the second floor very easily. The reception staff was helpful and friendly, locating the wedding site and printing maps for us. The attached restaurant 'Equus' is highly recommended, but we did not have a chance to try it. We had eaten on the road and wanted to have a glass of wine in the hotel after our long drive. We were directed to the bar, which turned out to be noisy and overpriced. In Wine Country, I would have expected a more cosy place and also a wine menu.
However, the overall quality of the hotel made up for this flaw. Wireless internet was free and worked without any issues.

Nice sized rooms and very confortable beds. Also, extremely convenient to the freeway and wine country. The AAA rate was $203. I thought this was expensive considering the overall condition of the room. Needed carpet and paint. I forgot my shower cap. I asked housekeeping for one, they even called to say it would be delivered; never arrived.

My wife took me to wine country for my 60th birthday. We were greeted at the reception desk the Chris, the Chief Morano. When he found out it was my birthday he sent us up a bottle of wine. Chris didn't stop there. He planned our two days in Sonoma County. He set up wineries, restaurants, and other sights to see. We had the time of our lives. Despite all our research on Sonoma it was Chris who made it so special.
As for the room it was large, clean and comfortable. I'd say it was good value for the money.
If you can't carry your bags up a flight of stairs they'll do it for you.
Thanks Chris. You're great
