We stayed here for a get away weekend. Upgraded to a mini-suite that included a refrigerator and microwave. On of the common complaints regarding this hotel is with respect to dated and drab rooms. We could have put up with this, however, we soon discovered the hotel age also affects the heating system. Upon arrival the room was cold as expected; but not similarly expected, despite increasing the wall thermostat heat and fan, nothing! We called the maintenance personnel who giggled the thermostat and declared victory. Unfortunately, the heat again failed that night--Low of 32F in Sonoma that evening. We again called, the thermostat was replaced, but still minimal heating. The maintenance crew opined this issue was not uncommon and we can only conclude; it requires a complete renovation! Get a blanket!

Room Tip: Select one with a balcony.

While we are glad to know you enjoyed your upgraded accommodations as well as the convenience of amenities such as an in-room refrigerator and microwave, it is with great disappointment that we learn you were not impressed at every turn or if you experienced any issues with the thermostat in your guest room. Please know that this is not a typical experience for our guests and we will share your comments with our Maintenance Manager to ensure that everything is at its best for future stays. Thank you for sharing your comments with us.

I think Hilton might of just taken this property over recently. Rooms and hotel are in need of a major renovation and update.
Staff is friendly and the place is clean but in the middle of nowhere. If you love to hike you'll find a couple cool wineries you could get to.
If you have a car, don't worry, town is close.
Restaurant is decent, 90 percent of the meals were awesome, I shouldn't of ordered risotto, that's a dish you need to get just right.
It was a good stay, but a little run down.

Thank you for sharing feedback regarding your stay with us. Located in the heart of Wine Country on 13 lushly manicured acres, the Hilton Sonoma Wine Country Hotel offers some amazing walking trails, beautiful views and easy access to both downtown Santa Rosa as well as over 330 area wineries and vineyards. While we are so glad to learn that you enjoyed hospitable service and an overall positive experience, we regret if our décor was not more to your liking and will share your comments with our Management team. It is our hope to welcome you back again.

I stayed here for a business planning meeting. The hotel looked nice, but I would call it a 3 star hotel. The reason is that the rooms need to be updated. The bedding was not food and the decor was like green and pink. The rooms were really far from the main lobby and so walking to and from your room was a burden. The lobby was nice and had wine tasting and the restaurant at the hotel great both in atmosphere and food. The truth is this is a great city and there are so many great hotels, I would seek out something a little more luxurious.

This hotel has a nice pool and hot tub but when it takes almost 20 minutes to check in and it's super expensive it's not worth it . Was put in a room that someone was in ! Second room had not been cleansed. Long walk back to the front desk each time . Staff was not great .

Bar is way way to over priced . Poor service . Try the Hampton in the area much better

We were choosing between this less expensive option (around $100/night) and a private cabin through VRBO (at least twice the price) for a 3-day/ 2-night New Years Eve getaway. We decided we would explore the area rather than stay chained to the bed, so it would be better to spend less on the hotel, as activities would cost a small fortune. We were very happy with our choice. The staff could not have been more accommodating - they seemed to go above and beyond in every way, especially on the new year's holiday when they might have been complaining about working. They told us how empty the hotel was as we were planning our visit, let us stay past 10 in the jacuzzi, moved us to a room close to the pool, brought us a fridge and bath robes, took a great photo of us on new year's eve, gave us late checkout, etc. Best of all, they did everything with a genuine smile. Location was very central and facilities were convenient - we took advantage of the jacuzzi and the pool. The decor was fairly standard but details were nice - no complaints. The only complaints we had (which were small compared to the whole experience) had to do with things that are probably corporate policy: 1) We smelled fragrance like room spray when we returned after housekeeping cleaned the room. This is unexpected in Northern California, where we are used to fragrance free living; 2) It was freezing outside and the temperature was set to like 54 degrees and blowing cold air on "high" when we checked in and, though we turned the thermostat up, it was returned to 54 and blowing cold air on "high" when we returned after housekeeping cleaned our room. btw - I had read other reviews that sound carries. Our footsteps in our first floor room made a hollow echoing noise even with carpet, and we did hear a very loud thudding noise above us at one point. The hotel was fairly empty during our stay and we are not terribly sensitive to sound, but with a full hotel, it might bother us.

Room Tip: Top floors probably quieter

We are so glad you chose the Hilton Sonoma Wine Country Hotel for your recent holiday getaway. Our associates truly love to provide a warm, hospitable experience for all of our guests and it is great to know you appreciated the additional amenities from cozy bathrobes to the room refrigerators provided for your convenience. A late night dip in the hot tub certainly sounds relaxing! We must apologize if the room temperature was not more to your liking during your stay or if sounds from other guests were a disruption to your stay. If there is anything we can do to provide an even better experience, please know that you can ask us at anytime. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back again.

Stayed at the Hilton Sonoma for a fantastic wedding in October. Great food, good bar with attentive staff and very very comfortable rooms. The pool in situated well on the hotel grounds and is a great little sun trap. Did not hear one complaint from all of the guests. Superb view out of the outside area from the bar. This is not the cheapest of hotels though, which for me wasn't an issue as I was kindly put up by the Bride and Groom ! THANK YOU xxx

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking pool are very nice.
