“Nice location, clean and friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2011

This was a nice hotel and a great location for Santa Rosa. With this being my first trip to the area I was unsure what to expect. The hotel was walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants. There was a restaurant onsite. I only ate breakfast there but, it was good. The room was great – very clean. The fitness center served its purpose and had new equipment but, I have defiantly seen better. This hotel does not have free internet which is always a negative with me but, I always expect to pay. Overall, I felt that the hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly and would go out of their way to help you with all your needs. A note for non-wine lovers (like myself) that are going to wine country – I still had a great time but, if you are looking for something to do, you are about a 30 minute drive to Bodega Bay. Neat place to visit, very secluded – not what I expected for beaches – but great scenic views.

We chose this property for its family friendly reputation and were not disappointed. Our room was located away from the highway and very quiet. Room was recently remodeled. Located near good restaurants and shopping. I've stayed at much better properties in the area, particularly more romantic settings/rooms. This Hyatt cost less than other properties I've stayed at in the area, and was the right choice for this family trip to Sonoma.

We booked this Hyatt since it is family-friendly and not many places in Napa/Sonoma are. When we arrived, we were checked in quickly and warmly. The bellman not only brought our luggage but a crib for our 1 year old daughter, a package of baby essentials, and a yellow rubber ducky to keep!!! We were very impressed. We stayed in the Executive Suite and it was very spacious! There was plenty of room for her to crawl around. The bathroom was matchingly huge and had two sinks, a jet tub, and a glass shower. We enjoyed the jetted tub very much after a long day of walking and site seeing. The hotel was very quiet, the concierge made last minute dinner reservations for us at a local restaurant that we walked to. It rained the first day we were there and the front desk automatically provided each of us with umbrellas for the day. We received free breakfasts with our package and the breakfasts were made to order at their nice restaurant instead of a buffet. Again, we were very pleased. We found everyone to be very, very helpful and courteous. The location is great because you have access to the freeway very easily and there are plenty of shops and bakeries and upscale restaurants nearby. We came the weekend after Valentine's Day to celebrate because we hate fighting crowds on Valentine's Day. I highly recommend this hotel and location, especially if you are traveling with a young one. We have traveled a great deal worldwide in our time and we have rarely had a bad choice in hotels. The management and staff and the hotel receive a very enthusiastic thumbs up from us!

By the way, the Charles Schulz (Peanuts creator) Museum is here nearby. Castello de Amorosa was a half hour drive away, and we enjoyed dinner at Syriah Restaurant (a half block from hotel.

Thank you to the Hyatt staff!

I had not posted a review on the Hyatt Vineyard Creek but felt compelled to do so after reading the previous review.

My wife and I stayed for three nights at this Hyatt last July and could not have been more pleased with the entire property/staff! The room faced the pool and the mountains in the distance, was comfortable, DID have pictures on the wall, and we slept very well in a great bed.

We enjoyed the fire pit (YES even in July as the evening temps were a bit chilly while the daytime temps were in the low 80'S), they had an enjoyable free wine tasting on Friday night, the pool/jacuzzi was warm and well used. The Brasserie Restaurant was very good with a nice variety of entrees as well as a good wine by the glass list as we ate there our 1st night after the long rush hour drive from SFO.

The grounds are incredibly beautiful with gardens, artistic sculptures, a great jogging/biking trail right outside the back gate of the gardens with a creek alongside. They even have a very small "vineyard" so you can get up close and personal to see how grape vines grow! The weekend we were there, three weddings were held on the grounds outdoors.

This is a great central location for Napa, Sonoma, Russian River, etc. The pictures on the hotel website don't lie!

This Hyatt was so "bad" :) that we've made reservations to go back for four nights this April to celebrate our Anniversary!

Its a good choice for the area, as everything we wanted near Napa, all the way to Calistoga was sold out over holiday weekend, so we defaulted to here. Next to highway is not the best. On weekends the Concierge is great for connecting you up to wineries depending on your needs, he is great.

Rooms are big, but lack much feel, the hallways are rundown for a Hyatt, and the elevator to 3rd floor is a pain. The town itself is so so, nothing sophisticated, the Flying Goat coffee was nice, and also the tourist center at the train depot station. The overall feel and place is trying to be more than its is, if you get my drift.

Other reviews are right on. Hotel is decent but nothing to really make you want to return. Despite a good location adjacent to historic downtown area, there's not much memorable. The lobby bar was dark the whole time I was there. Expensive internet access. Rooms fine but nothing special. Flat screen TV but had no HD. Odd ventilation issue such that my non-smoking room sometimes smelled smoky (presumably from an adjacent smoking room) and sometimes smelled of brewing coffee (presumably from an adjacent room). Some rooms facing the freeway would probably be noisy but mine, facing south, was quiet. On the plus side, staff were friendly and the breakfast in the adjacent restaurant was really good.

From the outside, it appears to be any suitable Hyatt; however, like any beauty it was only skin deep. The veneer wore thin upon approaching the understaffed reception desk. Slow service, arguing guests, and a crowded courtyard forewarned us of a poor trip. After waiting impatiently at the desk, we were "upgraded" to a handicap-accessible room, which could best be described as stark modernism meets industrial warehouse. The cavernous room was unadorned with pictures, headboards, or any sense of style. The good news is we located my grandmother's old living room chairs; the bad news is my back seized from trying to shower a the 4 foot shower head. we called reception for a change to another room, were told that there were rooms available and that we would be moved in a few minutes, but after waiting over an hour for a return call we decided to embrace our sensory deprived environment. Fortunately, a large party started directly outside our room on the patio and the hip- hop hipsters are still partying outside my door as I write this in the austere glow of the energy efficient lightbulbs. Tomorrow we'll stop at Target to buy suitable decorations for this uninhabitable room.
