Our experience at the Ca Bianca was outstanding. We celebrated a very special dinner and the staff could not have been more accommodating. We not only chose our table early in the day, the restaurant allowed us to decorate our table with streamers and balloons making it look so festive. The food was not only good they created a special appetizer for all of us to share. When it came time for the cake we had brought to the restaurant, they brought it out with the candles lit and happily served us.
The service was wonderful. We eat out a lot and various smaller establishments and consider ourselves somewhat sophisticated diners. We have only great words for the professionalism of our servers including excellent timing on serving our various entrees.
We highly recommend this restaurant for special events.
My boyfriend and I are in the process of deciding where to take our parents to dinner the night they meet each other for the first time. After getting recommendations for several other Italian restaurants in the area, we tried Ca' Bianca. Our choice has been made. We called ahead (highly recommended) and got a table within an hour. The ambiance was delightful, the music at the perfect level, and the food was superb. He started out with the carpaccio and an avocado salad for me. Both were perfect. The avocado salad was a delightful way to start off the meal. According to my boyfriend, the carpaccio (which he has never had before) was a taste sensation. Next, we had the potato, mushroom, and leek soup (a special of the day). Both of us were amazed by the sophisticated taste of this usually simple soup.
During the entire meal, our waitress was perfectly attentive (making sure she took care of our every need). My boyfriend simply could nod at her and she would bustle over to see what we needed.
Our entree's were a slightly mixed bag. I had the Fettucini Bolognese and it was piping hot, perfectly spiced, and cooked almost perfectly. The pasta (clearly made in-house) was a little over-done for my tastes.
My BF had the Gnoccitti alla Norma and was a little less than impressed. The taste was a little too much on the bland side for him. However, we both agreed that the perfectly cooked appetizers probably raised our expectations a little too high.
Our cocktails, which we ordered at the beginning of the meal were very good and arrived promptly.
All-in-all, I would recommend this restaurant... especially for those on a romantic date (or when they want to impress someone).
Good food. Expensive.
The ambiance is charming, and the service is excellent--unforthunately the food was not. The wild boar tasted like kibble drowned in salty brown canned gravy; the matriciana was Campbell's tomato soup over hard (NOT al dente) pasta. Can't believe they had the nerve to send this food out--PERHAPS the regular chef was kidnapped, but we'll never know because we'll never return. The bar was staffed by a young man who had no charm and NO ability to make a good cocktail--the bar's appeal was zero.
There are so many better alternatives--Lococo's, Cucina Paradiso, Giacomo's to name a few; and the relatively new Riviera, which we just tried, has terrific staff, atmosphere, and most importantly, fantastic authentic Italian cuisine.
Simply put, this restaurant served terrible food. It's been in business for quite a while, but when our friends suggested it, I realized no one I know ( my mother in law is Venetian) ever mentions it. No wonder the place was empty.
