Owner description: "Peanuts" devotees won't be disappointed in the museum that memorializes the work of cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, who made Santa Rosa his adopted hometown. The museum features an early mural of Charlie Brown and Snoopy, a wood relief sculpture of Snoopy showing the changes in the famed cartoon dog's appearance over the years and Schulz's actual work studio.

“Wonderful story of Sparky's life”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2014

This well-designed museum showcases Charles M. Schultz's (Sparky) life from boyhood through his extensive career. Lots of samples of the Peanut's comic strip and the stories behind the characters and the content. The building is two stories and should take about one to 1 1/2 hours to complete. The gift shop is quite tiny. Overall, thoroughly enjoyable!

“Small”

Small and the gift shop was horrible. But the content of the museum was good. Enjoyed the tour from a very nice volunteer.

“Pure heaven for Peanuts fans”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2014

We had a wonderful time at the Charles Schulz Museum last week. On my list of preferred museums dedicated to American artists and cartoonists I’m putting this one right behind my all-time favorite, the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA, and just ahead of the Walt Disney Family Museum at the Presidio of San Francisco. That’s mighty high praise.

We arrived at opening time, paid the senior admission fee of just $5 (what a bargain!) and were able to catch the 90-minute guided tour that began at 11:30. Our two docent guides were excellent, and I regret that I’ve forgotten their names. I especially regret that I didn’t spend more time reading the detailed explanations of the exhibits. I would definitely like to go back to give those exhibits their proper due. Hopefully, another visit to this fine museum is in my future.

Thanks to an abundance of windows in the Warm Puppy Cafe, we were able to watch skaters and hockey players on Snoopy’s Home Ice rink while taking our lunch (simple fare, reasonable prices). The gift shop is well stocked and fun to browse, but has a disappointing selection of postcards.

“Nice & Informative Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

We toured the Museum while staying in the Napa Valley area. It is designed and layed out in a easy to view way. We enjoyed the photos and memorabilia. And the wall art and designs were beautiful. The statues of the Peanuts characters are life size and very detailed. All the information was enjoyable and we had a good time finding out more about Mr.Schulz and how he developed his talent through the years. We enjoyed seeing the maze, the Snoopy ice rink, the Warm Puppy Cafe and the two gift shops. We especially enjoyed seeing all the names signed in cement between the ice rink and the larger gift shop and recognized several famous ones. Children will enjoy this Museum especially those that are familiar with all the characters on the Peanuts TV Specials.
