“Good value in a high priced location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

We stayed here mid September, Saturday night. We had a room (#21) that faced the street on the first level. I was surprised how quiet it was. The bed was nothing special, a standard, non-pillow-top, but fine for a night or two. The air conditioner heated/cooled quickly, the shower had plenty of hot water and the rooms were clean. The linens were fine. There was a fridge, microwave, TV. All that is necessary for a night or two touring the wine country.
This is an older motel that is independently run. It is a bargain in basic accommodations but not for someone who wants luxury. FYI, no hairdryer (but I did not ask at the desk, either). Our room was non-smoking; it did not have any "smoking odor". We would return, because it was a good value.

“Pubes on the sheets and no help”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012 via mobile

We stayed here for one night during a trip south. We checked in in the late evening and then went to dinner. When we returned, about 10:45pm, my wife pulled back the sheet on the made bed and found a bunch of pubic hairs. I was disgusted and went to the office to change rooms. Of course, there was no one there-a sign was posted saying they would be back at 9:15 the next morning. We slept in a sleeping bag on top of the bedspread.

The pubes in the sheets were disgusting and showed a definite lack of care on the cleanliness side. No night guy or property manager to answer the phone or office door is just downright irresponsible from the owner's perspective. If they don't care enough to have someone available, then I don't even want to think of what other corners they're cutting. The place was $75 before tax, but I would pay twice that for a room in a hotel that was at least marginally clean, comfortable and secure. I recommend you avoid the Redwood Inn.

The owner and entire staff sincerely apologize for the severe inconvenience and bad experience of our guests. Though not verified, the guests’ complaints are legitimate and efforts have been made to correct the deficiencies. While the linens are leased from an outside linen company and the bed sheets are always changed, unless otherwise requested by guests staying longer than one night, the responsibility ultimately lies with the on-site management and staff.

We are attempting to contact the concerned party to resolve the issue.

“Very satisfied”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012 via mobile

Very happy with our stay here. It's good value, especially compared to the exaggerated prices on the coast. We can only agree with the positive comments below. And indeed the owner does not appear to like smokers in his motel. Suits us fine.

“Very Good.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

This place is clean and well-run. It was a very good value for me, due to the fact that I needed an extended stay hotel room for approximately a month. This place was cheaper than the extended stay america hotels (about 1/3 less). The property managers of this hotel are very much on top of everything that is going on there, and they run a tight ship. I would stay there again, and would recommend anyone who needs to go to Santa Rosa for any reason stay there.

Room Tip: Request non-smoking (but you cannot smoke).

“Clean, budget accomodations for a family”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012

I stayed here with my husband and 4 kids on our way out of San Francisco on our way to the Avenue of the Giants. I booked this hotel because of the extra beds and space the family suite provided. For only $95 I thought the accomodations were a great deal. This room was really like a small apartment. There was a separate bedroom with a queen bed, a bathroom with toilet, sink and tub, 2 beds (a queen and a twin) in the front living area with TV and a separate kitchen with a small table. This family suite easily accomdated our family of 6. The room was exceptionally clean and it was a great place to stay for a quick night. I didn't need to use the kitchen facilities in the room, but it would have come in handy if I had needed to cook or prepare a fast meal. If you are looking for a budget hotel for a larger family, this will meet your needs perfectly.

Room Tip: Ask for the family suite if you need beds for 5+ people.
