I had blood spatter on the wall, a blood spot (about 1" x 1/2") on the bedspread (unwashed.) Within 10 minutes of checking in my purse (with passport inside) was stolen from my car which was parked directly in front of my room. There was no remote for the television. No ashtray in a smoking room. The guy at the desk was rude. I checked out after 3 hours and went to the Marriott Courtyard on Railroad St. The Marriott was perfect. The Days Inn is located across from several adult movie stores and a "smoke shop", next to a loud trailer park. It was the worst motel I have ever seen. My advice is don't stay there. Also, there was constant car traffic (single men driving) cruising the parking lot, apparently looking for prostitutes. In all, a very unsatisfactory experience.
Using an online travel service, we booked what normally would be a pleasant family oreidnted property. Two doors down is an adult video arcade and bookstore, a drug deal was observed going down in the parking lot and a female "staff member" from the adult arcade wearing not much more than her smile was observed entering a room that a recently checked in guest has just occupied and leaving 15 minutes later to return to the arcade. Less than desireable neighborhood unless you need a "quickie". Needless to say we took the family to another property immediately.
