I stayed at the Vintners Inn in mid October and was very impressed with the property. The biggest gripe I have is that the hotels website has lousy (and limited) pictures and does not do a very good job of showing potential customers how nice the place is.
The hotel consists of four small buildings (not including the restaruant & clubhouse), the main buidling where the front desk & breakfast are and the gust rooms are scattered in the remaining three. Where "courtyard room" typically has a negative connotation, these rooms at the Vintners are excellent (see my pictures). The rooms are large and have nice touches similar to many upscale properties I have stayed at. The grounds surrounding the property were VERY beautiful. Although it sits close to highway 101, I did not hear cars at all until we were in the parking lot. The fountain in the courtyard was a nice touch to help drown out any risidual noise.
One of the ammenities we really liked was the morning coffee/tea that was in the lobby of each of the three buidings. Breakfast was adequate, but the made to order option was very reasonable for $8 person or $15/couple.
If in the area again, I would not hesitate to stay there again. It was very central to the areas making trips Headlsburg, Calistoga, Sebestpol, Bodega Bay, Sonoma a great options froma home base.
