Based on the mixed reviews I've read about Stark's, I have to admit that I was a little skeptical about dining there. Various reviews on both food and service ranged from expection to mediocre.

The service we received was excellent, both from the waitstaff and the wine staff. The ambience was warm and inviting. Overall, the portion sizes were generous and we certainly ended the meal with appetites fully satisfied. BUT....

My principal beef with Stark's was the beef ! Both of our steaks (different cuts) were ordered medium rare and arrived very rare. We should have sent them back, but I know from experience this does not usually go over well with the kitchen staff, often results in a delay in the meal and the meat comes back to the table overdone.

My date ordered a filet mignon, which, for $36, should have been "like buttah", but she struggled to cut it with a steak knife! My New York strip first appeared to be a very generous cut of meat, but fully half of it turned out to be inedible gristle and fat. These steaks were nowhere close to the quality I have enjoyed at far lesser restaurants for half the price. If you are going to "stake" your reputation on steak, then every single piece of meat that comes out of that kitchen should be sublime!

Like many other reviewers, I overwhelmingly agree that both the food and the wine are horrendously overpriced. If someday they should choose to include a side dish or two (and sauces) with the main course, I would consider going back, but until then I'm "well done" with the place.

We went to Stark's for our anniversary dinner. We were both wondering if we should go to a restaurant with a more known reputation since Stark's is so new. We really liked the online menu though so we decided to try it, and we were glad we did. I was initially worried when we pulled up to the parking lot that the environment would be lacking inside, but the restaurant actually had a very nice ambiance. The food was excellent and the service was nice and prompt. The potato fondue was really yummy (and quite a generous portion). The filet was cooked to perfection and was incredible! We were very glad to have spent our anniversary dinner at Stark's, it was the perfect way to end our trip.

As we heard a lot of good things about the place. on 5/31 2008, we went to celebrate my wife's birthday .
Summary.
Place looks classy.
Food is good.
Service was bad. The waitress was very slow. For whatever reasons even busboys were available, she spent her time cleaning the plates form other tables. meantime we waited at least 25,minutes for the first contact and more to place the order
For such an expensive place this is not acceptable.
They use individual customer table pads which , from customer to customer they just get cleaned for the crumbs .
If a customer has a medical issue and places his cutlery on the pad, which is normal, the disease could be transmited very easily.
This is a very unhealthy solution.
As a whole package ,we did not think that it worth the money and the rating.

Probably the nicest place in town. Very pricey but you get what you pay for here. My steak was cooked perfectly and was a great cut to start with. Definately a place to splurge or celebrate a special occasion.
