“Disappointing!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

We stayed two nights, October 2012, at the Hilton Garden Inn located just beside he Santa Rosa Airport. The Inn is fairly new and the furnishings are excellent. The hotel is, in my opinion, overpriced. Breakfast is not included in the room rate and the breakfast presented was second to third rate buffet--not the kind of meal you would expect in such an expensive hotel.
The hotel has one serious defect: the roof is metal and water condenses during foggy and dewy nights and the run off drips down into poorly designed downspouts and makes a loud dripping noise that is audible inside the rooms. I spent a sleepless night the first night because of the 2:00 AM--on noise that sounded like a large drippy faucet. The second night the hotel changed rooms to one on the third floor and although I could hear some faint dripping it was much better. I am rating this hotel down, then, because it is not worth the expense, has a second-rate breakfast buffet, and has the awful dripping noise which may make it impossible for people with sensitive ears to sleep.

Room Tip: If youi must stay here try to get a room on the third floor, away from downspouts.

We were at this hotel in June 2011 and reserved two rooms. They made sure the rooms were connecting and the place was reasonable and the front desk very helpful. Breakfast was out of this world. The rooms were clean and the location was excellent. They gave us directions to places we wanted to visit and went over and beyond to help us.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights in a king size bed. The bed was comfortable and had controls for personal comfort on both sides. The hotel a d room were very clean! The hotel staff was helpful, knowledgable and friendly. There is a pantry to purchase any items that you may have forgotten on your travels. There is a restaurant on the premises. 10.95 for breakfast and its an all you can eat buffet and omlet bar. The location is convent to the San Francisco airport. Just take 101 north to 495b. Got kids there is a movie Theatre right next door. A gas station, subway,Quiznos, and convent store as well all within a short drive.

The hotel staff was kind, the hotel was a reasonable price, lobby is spacious, and well suited for sitting and conversing.

Not sure if cookies are free every night, but there were some soft, warm, delicious ones the night I was there.

Parking and WIFI is free.

Breakfast in the lounge area wasn't cheap, but it was pretty good, with a fruit bar, and hot plates cooked to order. Not sure if there's a reduced cost for the fruit bar alone.

We have stayed here for 5 nights. All of the staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is newer and cleaner than most in the area. Having stayed at the Hilton Sonoma Wine Country previously, I prefer this hotel instead. On weekdays they have a lot of business travellers, on the weekend a lot of people were here for the 7500 rider Levi GranFondo cycling event. To accommodate the riders schedule, they even opened the breakfast buffet ($11) at 5 AM. The hotel has a nice lobby area with DirectTV and coffee/tea/cookies. There is a breakfast/restaurant/bar area. Service was very fast. Small but well equipped workout area and indoor pool/hot tub. Free internet (fast) and parking. Business room with computers/printers and small laundry. Lobby pantry to purchase snacks/drinks. All the rooms have minifridge/microwave. Next door is movie theater, multiple casual dining options, Starbucks/Market/Gas station. Will need a car to get into downtown Santa Rosa and wineries. Look for free or 2 for 1 wine tasting coupons in the lobby display rack and Wine Country magazine, or online.

Room Tip: The "end" balcony rooms overlook the vineyard. One side overlooks trees/park, the other si...

To avoid the horrible traffic getting out of SFO, we took Airport Express straight from SFO to the Santa Rosa Sonoma County Airport (leaves every hour) to pick up a rental car (we highly recommend doing this for a non-stressful trip to the winecountry). We stayed at this hotel because of the trip advisor reviews, and it was only 1 mile away from the Santa Rosa airport. The hotel is rather new, and it has it's own wine bar with local wines (we sampled a zin from Carol Shelton Winery, visited the winery, and ended up joining her wine club). It also has great happy hour prices and good food, with it's own chef making some of the appetizers from scratch. Our room was quiet, comfortable, and clean. The lobby was quiet, and we spent time reading downstairs one day in the comfy chairs and sunlight. The staff was helpful. Remember to ask the front desk for coupons for two for free wine tastings at the Kendall Jackson (about a mile away) and Deloach vineyards (a few minutes drive away) which will save you about $35 at each place. We will definitely stay here again next year when we visit the Sonoma vineyards. It's a great central location to many excellent vineyards, like Sonoma Cutrer---which is well worth the short 5 minute or so ride. We could easily have stayed here the whole trip, but we had reservations up the street at the Old Crocker Inn for two nights, and then came back to this hotel, got a free shuttle ride to the airport where we picked up the bus to SFO the next AM, and were on our way home. Great trip.

Room Tip: Happy hour is well worth it. The homemade dip for the nachos is excellent, and the local wines are...
