We wanted to stay close to the beach but not willing to spend $300+/room for a room by the beach since we were only going to be there for 1 day and there were 6 of us. This hotel was 10-15 minutes drive from the beach. You could take Pico Blvd all the way down. The hotel is built motel style and consists of 3 buildings along with 3 parking lots. We were in the 2nd building, so on both sides of the room, we were facing the parking lot. This helped with noise, as I read from many reviews that the street side is loud. No pool, but who needs a pool when the beach is right there. Check in was super fast. There were two ladies manning the lobby when I was checking in, and they were both nice and helpful. Parking was difficult, and this is why I didn't give this hotel 5 stars. The parking is really tight. It's literally head in first. Pico is an extremely busy street, so I did not enjoy backing out onto that street. It seem everyone who stayed at the hotel the night we stayed had SUVs. Although you are given a parking permit, parking is very limited. We ended up loosing our spot coming back from dinner. You can't park on the street at night, and it's metered during the day. The night staff did however help us with parking at night. The downside, the additional parking was 1.5 block over in the Trader Joe's lot, and we had to park in the back far end of the lot. Doesn't make it fun or safe walking back to the hotel at 2 in the morning. That particular night, there were two bums standing outside of our building talking really loud. Although they weren't bothering us, it was scary since I'm a female. The night hotel guy who worked there, was helpful and shooed them away. So no problems after that. Breakfast is located in a room next to the lobby in the first building and can only be accessed through the lobby. Typical complimentary breakfast, nothing big. I had a pancake, and bagel. We got 2 rooms, 2 queen beds in each room. I was very satisfied with the rooms. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the room, but there was plenty of space for 4 adults per room. There's also a little kitchen area towards the back of the room that has a small sink, microwave, refrigerator, and a small table and two chairs. Oh, coffee maker included as well. Bathroom was big enough. However, the tub is deceiving. The height of the tub is low, however when you get in it, the tub feels like it's lower than the floor. At least, for me, that was the way it felt. No fan in bathroom, so we kept the bathroom window open all night for ventilation. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with this hotel. Definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to stay near the beach but cannot afford $300+ a night per room.
