My Boyfriend and I stayed at the Fairmont Hotel in May and had a wonderful time. I booked the hotel through a special offer/discounted price, so wasn't sure what would happen. It was also my boyfriends birthday so I told them that when making the reservation, someone called the next day and asked nicely how old was he going to be and his name, so they could do something (I was impressed). When we got the hotel, they had a left a chilled bottle of champgne and a small cake with his name and birthday wishes. I thought it was great and a wonderful example of their customer service, would highly recommend hotel.

Family of Four (2 kids, 6 & 8 yrs old) spent 4 days/3 nights at Fairmont Hotel Santa Monica. Upon check-in, was upgraded from a Palisade Grand Suite to a 2-floor Bungalow Suite. We're somewhat of a "hotel snob"...have stayed on vacation at Ritz or Four Seasons. Can say without a doubt service was awesome and comparable to other top hotels. From rides to/from beach (pickup at end of day w/out prompting), service at Beach Club was awesome (helped us with bike rentals, food/drinks at beach, etc.), room were serviced daily in timely manner, kids loved the plush robes, big screen TV w/DVD players, etc. Bungalows w/patios are awesome if you want to splurge - definitely worth it. We had sauna in room but didn't have time to take advantage of. Would rate room decor/condition as a "4" vs. "5" at top hotels but otherwise everything was great. Cannot beat location if you're looking for beach vacation - definitely better value than other hotels we looked into (Shutters, Loews). Convenient to 3rd Street Promenade also. Overall, a 5-star experience!!!

This hotel is a tropical paradise right out of Hawaii. Extremely lush landscaping, gorgeous lighting & grounds make this hotel stand out head & shoulders above any hotel experience I have had in LA. The pool is gorgeous & warm, surrounded by palm trees, elegant chaise lounges, plenty of umbrellas, and hot & cold running pool boys who bring you fabulous food, drink and replace your wet towel with dry while you are swimming.

The service was fab, decor gorgeous & elegant, the rooms on the smaller side but elegantly appointed, and the beds quite lux. We also found it quite child friendly, despite the elegance. The location, right across the street from the beach, meant great views & walking distance to about 100 fabulous restaurants & bars in the very chic area. Also very close to the pier for those with kiddies.

I think this is my favorite hotel ever!

One night stopover in LA.
Hotel seems like a lovely oasis in busy Santa Monica.
Beautiful garden/pool area to unwind in.
Booked cheapest room but given a free upgrade to a poolside bungalow. Pleasant room -but fairly standard hotel room -would not have wanted to pay market price for it.
Very attentive, pleasant staff.
Many restaurants nearby.
Walking distance to Santa Monica Pier.
Our favourite hotel in the 2 weeks in the US.
Would love to stay in other Fairmonts because of our stay here.
