Stayed here for 10 days in August , booked a double queen bed suite , we were given one of the corner rooms , so the living room section was quite small , although we did have a small balcony ! Firstly , can't believe people don't do a bit of research , re the parking !! Hotel charges $32 a night for parking , there are 2 car parks over the road which charge $5 and $ 10 per day !!!! We used the public car park for the court ( not the multistorey) they charge maximum $5 per 24 hrs , up to 3 days, you can park right up in the corner nearest the hotel , probably quicker to get your car than to wait for the fellas to fetch your car from the valet parking !!
The staff at the hotel are great , sorted out some issues I had printing park tickets I bought online in the computer room . We had the breakfast included , couldn't fault it , I'd limit using the bar to a swift pint before going out as its expensive compared to bars in the nearby downtown area . Didn't order any food as its very expensive , although most hotels are !!!
Couple of tips if your stopping here with kids , the pool is nice , but there are only around 10 sunbed s !! We planned on having a 'pool' day between visiting the theme parks and stuff , but you need to go into full 'German' mode to get some sunbeds!!! We gave up on most days and headed for the beach !! Here is another tip, we visited Venice, Malibu and obviously santa Monica beaches , none of these have the usual sunbed hire your used to in Europe and elsewhere , and more importantly no sun shade hire !! Be prepared to sit on beach towels ( bring your own , we had to pay $80 for 4 !! Supply & demand!!) and if you've got young kids , budget to buy some sun shades from Walmart !!( be aware , they're not as plentiful as in Florida!!).Overall , the hotel is fine ,and santa Monica is a great place to stay and visit the attractions in LA.
