But! I booked (and paid more for) a partial ocean view about 6 weeks earlier. We were put into a city view room without any comment being made, When I questioned it, we were told there were no more partial ocean views available. We were moved to another room which had more light and a peek of the ocean. Systems failure somewhere as they sold the room twice.
Breakfast buffet was included. It was standard fare done reasonably well but after 5 days it became old as no changes occurred.
Someone (probably one of the staff) made a phone call from our room while we were out and it was charged to our bill, but deducted without fuss when I queried it.
Parking was $32 per day, when there was a public car park across the road for $5 per day
One of my concerns with the original room we were given was that the lack of light. The bedroom had an outside window but the sitting room, where kids would be, had a curtained window onto the hotel atrium which made the room very dark. It may not be important if you are only there at night but we were there during the day at times.
Overall the hotel was fine, clean, staff were friendly and generally helpful. There was some street noise but worse for us was the rattle in the airconditiong that continued even after you turned it off. The suite works well for small families, with a king bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the seating area. There was a fridge, microwave and sink for convenience. The bathroom connected to both rooms. The hotel is located a bit away from the main area but its a 10 minute walk to many nice shops and restaurants (Jiraffe 0.5mile and Chinois on Main 1mile recommended, both a flat walk.) The beach is about 10 mintues walk. The freeway entrance is very handy.
