I have to admit I have NEVER received such horrible service before! My friend and I actually checked out and stayed at the Travelodge instead because we were so disgusted with the service we recieved. Here's what happened: my friend and I checked into a non-smoking room, which turned out to be a smoking room. It just reeked of cigarettes!! I called down to the front desk and the guy working there put me on hold in the middle of my sentence! i was little miffed but stayed on the line. He came back a few minutes later and said we had a non-smoking room- i told him that there were ASHTRAYS in the room and that it stunk. He told me that he was too busy with other customers and hung up!!! I was so shocked- we had JUST checked in a few minutes ago and there was nobody downstairs. We went downstairs and I asked to speak to the manager- he said he was the manager. I told him that i did not appreciate his behaviour and he really did not care. I asked another employee if he was the manager and he FREAKED out and started swearing at me! Unreal... my friend and I were both shocked beyond belief. At that point, i told him that I was going to call his head office and his head almost exploded. We seriously thought he was going to get violent. We left, went to the COmfort Inn down the road. They did not have any rooms and told us that they had TONS of customers leave the Days Inn due to the horrible service. He called the Travelodge and booked us a room. We immediately want back to the Days Inn, got our money refunded and left for the Travelodge. In all my years of travelling, I've never recieved this type of service- I usually dont' do stuff like this, but the public needs to know!! Do NOT stay here- I will be calling the head office to lodge an official complaint. Thanks for reading!!
