This is hotel which has problems only with SERVICE (as the rooms are very clean and spacious) because 1) the staff is very un-corteous to simple/working class people who don't wear expensive Armani suits 2) has expectations about who the guests are and how they should dress. My experience was severly hampered by an incident when I was checking out, after paying $150 a night for three days, as I was climbing the stairs, a
big security guard said I could not go up and he put his hand out. He was extremely rude to me and threatened to "remove" me from the building if I did not comply, he even called another security guard, both of these men were (type) dressed in fancy suits with the "undercover ear piece" pretending to look like CIA agents. As a result of their gathering upon me, I could not check the email one last time that was promised on the Rad homepage, and I lost a few contracts for work because of it.
I was wearing jeans and normal clothes, but as this is a very upscale hotel, they must have thought I had wandered in from the street. I later told the manager that he would not let
me use the restroom or even check email and the manager said he would only "speak to him". There is a "serious L.A. attitude" problem with these snobs.
Sorry, not everyone drives expensive cars and is in the film industry. I can not recommend this hotel based on my experience but if you are well dressed, have money, then its probably the place for you so enjoy its elitist treatment. What a joke.
When I drove into the garage at the hotel, the valet looked at me like I had stolen the car and he did not help me, this is a hotel for the very rich but I paid for my 2 days here. When I returned to my car, which was left, awaiting to be parked by the valet with keys inside, windows wide open and the valet's driving like maniacs in other cars, the garage man looked at me like I was going to steal something. The reception desk is full of snobs who didn't seem too concerned by my reservations and they gave me a smoking room (I'm
allergic to smoke). Too many rich people, who are quite arrogant and rude, sit in the lobby and I felt truly uncomfortable.
The only good thing I have to say about this place is that it is near the beach and the
3rd street promenade, in a safe, yet desolate area. Do not walk by the beach at night, for many homeless and gang members are occupy the place.
