We stayed 5 nights in an ocean view suite beginning May 8th after reading many positive reviews on this website. Everything was perfect. The suites are large and the views were fantastic. Little things like the opening windows, turn down service with chocolates and local weather information each night, tour booking services at concierge, free internet and two large plasma screens made the stay easy and comfortable. However the biggest asset of the Georgian is their staff. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly without being obtrusive. Every time we moved in or out of the hotel through the main foyer we were met with friendly greetings. All requests we had of them were handled quickly and with a smile.
If you choose to stay at The Georgian you must try the breakfast on the verandah. It was beautiful. Another tip - if you are looking for organised tours there are a few companies that will pick you up from the door which is a bonus. We used Sensational LA Tours (the little green buses) and thought they were brilliant. Steve will pick you up from the hotel - he is a fantastic guy.
Thanks to everyone at the Georgian for a fantastic stay. We will be returning

The Georgian is a wonderful property if you like hotels with character and good old customer service. Everyone we dealt with that worked at the hotel seemed to like their job and took it upon themselves to keep the clientele happy. We only had a one night stay combined with a day at the Getty museum so we enjoyed a lovely Sunday morning breakfast on the porch before leaving. The room looked to be recently renovated, exceedingly clean. Stop by the nearby Vanilla Bakery to taste their great cupcakes!

We Stayed for three nights over the jul 4th holiday. It was my first time and my wife's second stay. the staff was terrific!! The roooms very nice .The location is right in the center of Santa Monica. Beach across the street , 3rd st Promanade just a five minute walk. Yet with all this so close you get the feeling of traveling back in time to the heyday of the Hollywood studios, and all the associated glamour.

The service here is first rate, the breakfast on the veranda is such fun and the food is outstanding.

I previously wrote a review about the Georgian hotel in Santa Monica, in a non-positive light, and wanted to let fellow travelers know that the Manager phoned me to apologize for the rough spots in our recent stay over their busy Father's Day weekend. He explained that they were indeed short staffed, and although that was no excuse, they typically have very good reviews and he was sorry for our disorganized visit. He has been the General Manager there for 15 years, and appeared to care very much about their guests stay there and their experiences while in the hotel. I did let him know that my review said I would like to try them out again during a less busy time, and we will do just this. I was very impressed that he followed up with me personally after hearing from the front desk about our difficulties over the weekend with our stay there. We will return, as we really enjoyed the staff there, the clean rooms, the front porch for drinks and breakfast, and the ocean view.

Stayed at the Georgian only one night as part of a three leg extended weekend with my spouse. Wish we had booked all three nights there.

Above all, the Oceanside suite stold the show. It was an expansive, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable room. Entry leads to a hallway that brings you to the living room/office desk area, which also boasts the main Beach view window. The bedroom with the King bed was adjacent, separated by two patio style doors with curtains. From there the bathroom was large and clean. No Roman or Spa tub, but plenty comfortable and clean. All newly remodeled. Another door at the back of the bathroom led to the entry hallway next to the front entrance.

Within walking distance to lots of shopping (3rd Street), movie theaters, and the beach!

The restaurant/bar seating is essentially on the front porch of this wonderful hotel. After checking in and doing some shopping we came back and sat on the porch and had a few drinks served to us. A really cool spot if you like to just sit and people watch. A good amount of foot traffic on the sidewalk below. Also, breakfast there was WONDERFUL. You have to try the baked French toast. Very very good.

Service was good too. There were a couple of mess-ups getting checked in; the staff apologized and did a good job of correcting the situation. Really no problems there either. Very attentive.

We WILL be back.
