I stayed here because of the glowing reviews on Trip Advisor and it was lovely, especially the Veranda bar. Definitely stay here if you can.

We chose this hotel as we wanted somewhere small and friendly and close to the ocean and in Santa Monica and close to venice Beach. We were very pleased with our choice. It was very handy for the shops of Santa Monica and all the ttractions along the ocean down to venice Beach.

We had a lovely suite, overlooking the ocean. Even though there was a Highway between us and the sea, you couldn't actually hear or see it, which was amazing.

Breakfast on the verandas under heaters was lovely and locals often popped in and used the hotel as a meeting place so we didn't feel we were in a tourist trap...

Lovely snacks in the evening were a welcome touch...

Just returned from Santa Monica and stayed 2 nights at The Georgian. Nice big, clean room, good service and good breakfasts on the veranda. Extremely nice and helpful staff, from the front desk to the valet car service. Considering the cost of the other high end hotels nearby, The Georgian is a very good deal and in a perfect location.

We spent a weekend here in February. I agree with most of the other comments on this site, both good and bad. This is an atmospheric, well-run, if slightly pricey hotel in a great location. Rooms are adequately-sized, bathrooms small. Either the walls were super-thin, or it was through the air ducts, but we could hear conversations in the bathroom next door – not great. Ours was a side room with a sea view, which struck us as preferable to being right at the front, which would be both hot and noisy. Staff were okay: the barman was pleasant but forgetful, which grew less endearing each time we had to jog his memory. I certainly wouldn’t describe the staff as exceptional, as others have, but we had no real complaints. In any case, the Georgian’s real trump card is its veranda. This is the sort of venue you would actively seek out for breakfast and/or sunset cocktails on a trip to Santa Monica, and to have it downstairs is wonderful. That’s what you’re paying extra for.
