Quality and friendliness epitomize The Georgian Hotel, in Santa Mónica, California. I have just returned for my second stay and hopefully it won't be the last. The room is well iluminated, peacefully quiet, lovely decoration, the queen bed pleasantly comfortable, the bathroom super clean. This historic hotel has been under renovation and I think it keeps going, however, it preserves original architectonic details which make The Georgian a very unique place. Its location is perfect, from there you can find restaurants, malls, the beach, all walking distanced. For my next vacation I will definitely stay at The Georgian.

We stayed in one of the city view suites (we've seen the ocean and the rooms are exactly the same) and it was great. We had a pre-dinner group and post-dinner group in the room of about 6 in the "living room" and the hotel sent up ice and glasses for us. We were able to close the french doors to the bedroom and didn't have to worry about picking things up in there. They turned down the bed which was extremely cozy. The only thing I can say was awkward was the TVs in the room were very specific on how you aimed the remote at them. Also, the doors to the bathroom didn't lock and we couldn't quite figure out why.

We loved our stay at The Georgian Hotel! From the moment we arrived and were greeted with big smiles from the friendly staff, to the day we had to leave (sadly :( ), we were treated like the movie stars that stayed there from years past.

You won't find a hotel with more character, history and amazing views/location in Santa Monica. Built in 1933, The Georgian faces the beach/ocean, and is just a short walk from the Pier and 3rd Street Promenade. Extensive renovations were done to upgrade rooms and furnishings which made our stay very comfortable. However, the classic building features remain ... from the original wood elevators, to the art deco exterior and stairwells, the so-called haunted Speakeasy basement restaurant (used only now for special occasions) where high society and celebrities of the past would mingle, to our ocean view room located next to Clark Gable's room on the 8th floor.

In summary, if you want the classic California experience, this is the place for you. Don't stay here if you are expecting everything to be like that of a newer hotel with soundproofing and oversize amenities. This is a character boutique property with its original small bedrooms and bathrooms - and you will hear the people in the room next door to you just as we did.

Thanks again Estrella & staff at the Georgian Hotel for making our experience truly a memorable one! We hope to return one day ~ California dreaming! :)

PS - Breakfast and after dinner drink on the veranda is a must!

My wife and I travel extensively, and we were pleased with every aspect of our stay at The Georgian! The location is perfect for walking to all of the shops, the beach is right across the street (unobstructed ocean view), and the service is impeccable from the moment you pull up to the curb and the valet takes your car to the courteous employees and fast room service. The morning coffee was at our door within a minute of calling to order it. One of the hotel's best (and unique) features is its veranda across the front. It is a delightful spot to enjoy breakfast or have an evening glass of wine. (There are heaters for cooler evenings or mornings if desired, and there are some tables inside as well--although everyone we saw sat outside.) The bed was extremely comfortable and our ocean view suite was spacious. We liked the "retro" feel and decor. We would return to this hotel any time !!

We toured round California and wondered whether we should have stayed more centrally in LA but I would thoroughly recommend Santa Monica. It's got lots of shopping, bars and restaurants and feels very safe to walk around at night. The Georgian has a fabulous location on the front, nearly opposite the pier.

We had looked for ages for a hotel in Santa Moncia but they all seemed overpriced. Eventually I came across the Georgian at a reasonable price so we booked it. And I'm really glad we did!

They have tried to keep the decor inkeeping with the 1930's building (so sometimes it looked a little odd!) but overall it was nice. The room wasn't large but I felt fine for the price we paid.

The best bit was sitting on the veranda outside the front of the hotel watching the sunset. It was also a nice place to start the day with breakfast, which was well cooked - with a mexican touch!

Parking was valet only and dear ($20+ per day) but the valets were helpful and always brought our car quickly. And this seems to be standard in Santa Monica.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
