We just returned from our 2nd stay at the Channel Road Inn. Last time we were there was 10 years ago; it remains a great place to stay.
Breakfasts are amazing and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly.
They recommended places to eat dinner and even arranged reservations. They have bicycles available for use and the location is great for exploring the area, the beach and the Getty Villa. There is a range of rooms and prices and you won't be sorry.

Highly recommend staying here. We will and we don't plan to wait 10 years for the next visit.

This 1910 jewel could be in New England, with its weathered shigles, open porches and view of a floral hillside out back. But it is perfectly situated below Santa Monica (a five minute ride up Channel Road puts you on 7th Street, in the heart ot town) and a stone;s throw from the Pacific Coast Highway and beach. The public area of the inn is warm and inviting. Sit and read the paper or go online at the accessible computer. Do not miss a glass of wine on check in and save room for the chocolate chip cookies...the best, like Mom's. The rooms have character and comfort, each slightly different, large, great beds and lovely cottage furniture. PArking on site. Pleasant and genuinely helpful staff, Quiet. A short walk toward the PCH on the same side of the street takes you to the little Italian restaurant with fabulous home made everything. The Inn is a great value and refreshing hideaway.

My mom and me stayed at the Channel Road Inn for one week, during our Trip to LA. It was our first time in California, and so we had no idea where to stay. Luckily we had already bought a travel guide from "Marc O'Polo", and in there we read the short paragraph of the Channel Road Inn. This convinced us, that the Inn would be the right place for us to stay.

As we arrived our expectations have been more than overtopped. The house is in a very quiet arrea, near the beach. When you enter the building, everything fits to the location. It's very tastefully furnished, and you feel very welcome. We were positively astonished when we were welcomed with the words: "I've baked you some homemade coockies to welcome you. I hope you like them". And yes...they were delicious, so as all the homemade things we got for breakfast and snack.

The rooms were all differently furnished, and very clean. Another big chalk up for the Inn is, that the staff is very nice and caring. They answered all our questions about the area or where to find the next supermarket.

Now we are half a week home again, and we already miss the tasty meals we got there. But luckily we bought the cookbook from the Inn, so that we could try to make the delicious food by our own.

All told, our stay at the Channel Road Inn was very comfortable and nice. So we can highly recommend it to everyone.

We only spent 2 nights at Channel Road, but wished we had stayed longer. It was situated in a nice quiet spot just off the main beach road with easy access to the beach and to the Pier, and in fact to everywhere went! Whilst we didn't use the bikes many people did, and it was nice knowing we could have used them.
Our 2 rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast and afternoon wine/snacks were fantastic. I even brought away one of the recipes for future use.
All in all we would recommend Channel Road to anyone hoping to stay in the Santa Monica area, and should we be returning will definitely be going there.
