What a beautiful house! We were welcomed with a bottle of champagne, chocolates and homemade cookies with a note from the owners saying congratulations on our recent wedding. The room was gorgeous with everything you could possibly need (No. 1). The house was comfy and relaxed and staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and different everyday. The location is great just a few minutes walk from the beach and about 20 minutes into Santa Monica itself along the beach. We took advantage of the bikes available for hire from the hotel, free of charge, and rode all the way along the boardwalk to Venice Beach. There is also a bus stop just across the street from which you can catch buses into Santa Monica and then all over LA. Sadly we didn't get chance to use the hot tub - maybe next time!

Everything from the moment we checked in was hassle-free and better than expected. The house is beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable. Warm cookies, apple cider and chocolate were waiting for us in our room when we arrived. The breakfast was amazing and the location is right near the beach. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay.

Channel Inn Road is a perfect place to stay while in the Los Angeles area. We booked one of the smaller queen rooms. It was cozy but enough room for two. Many options for relaxing; the living room, library, front porch or back garden.
Off street parkingis a plus.. The staff was outstanding, friendly and accomodating. They had great ideas of places to visit and eat.
Breakfast was very good and the afternoon wine and cheese time was an added bonus and we had time to kill before our evening plans began.
Spent an afternoon bike riding along the ocean with the bikes available at the inn.

Channel Road Inn is a keeper.

“Stay at the Channel Road Inn right outside Santa Monica”

I stayed at the Channel Road Inn for work at the end of January on the recommendation of my colleague. If you’re traveling to LA for business or pleasure, I’d recommended this B&B. It’s not in the most interesting area, it’s one block off the pacific coast highway or a short drive and about 1-2 mile walk to Santa Monica. However, there is a pedestrian crossing under the PCH so it’s a quick walk to the beach. The CRI lends bikes to ride the bike path along the beach. You can walk up a short neighborhood road to get to Palisades Park which is a park/walkway up on the cliff to walk along to downtown Santa Monica.

The inn itself is quaint and the breakfasts are wonderful. In the afternoons the smells of baking for the next morning permeate the B&B. The Inn puts out the breakfast buffet of homemade coffee cakes, fruit and egg dishes for a self-serve style buffet. The B&B offers free wireless in rooms and a computer in the common living room.

There isn’t much to do or places to eat in walking distance of the B&B, but there is a large wall map of the area in the hallway so you can find your way around. A short day trip would be hiking in Malibu at the Malibu Canyon River Park.

“Santa Monica's hidden gem”

Channel Road Inn

Jan 12, 2008

wow! you wouldn't believe there could be such a tranquil place to stay in LA or even Santa Monica - and right by the beach! This is a small and adorable bed & breakfast, the rooms are great with lots of natural light and overlooking a beautiful garden. Breakfast is fresh and homemade and the evening wine & hors deuvres reception is awesome - The smell of flowers, the white soft sheets, the classical music, the yummy quiche, the welcome cookies - it all feels like your host is Bree from Desperate Housewives! (in a good sense, though). They also have a hot tub, as well as free bike rental. LOVED IT!
