“A true deli-lover's deli”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2011

An older, slightly worn look is made up for in the food--true deli-quality and huge servings! Well worth checking out. Large seating area, so even though they were crowded, we did not have to wait. Prompt, courteous service. Try the Reuben!

“Worth the diversion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2011

I came her with a Groupon coupon. Why does that sound like awkward English? Anyway, we really would never have gone here otherwise--I rarely venture to the Westside unless it is to enjoy the surf and sand of the Pacific. Fromins forced us out of my archaic comfort zone, and I am glad it did. The place was only 20% full on a Sunday afternoon, with a nearby booth filled with two burley Santa Monica Police officers and their community services officer student. Hey, if cops eat here it must be good, right? (or better yet, if cops eat here, they must get a big discount!). Anyway, the kids got some tasty and reasonably priced kids stuff, and the Mrs. and I shared a chopped liver and egg salad open faced sandwich. Wow, what a taste sensation. The pickles were great, the waitress was super, and we will go back again. And, to make it even more interesting, my $25 Groupon ended up covering my $24.97 check..is that good math or what?

“simple, friendly, reliable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2011

We've gone here on and off for years. It is a friendly, reasonably efficient and economic place to eat. The food is nothing special just plain deli food but done well and with a smile. It isn't in the super deli range like Brent's in the Valley but it is reliable. There is an extensive menu which is executed competently. The place is generally full or nearly so and rarely does anyone seem disappointed unless they expected what this place is not. Early in mealtime the cientele is reasonably old because of the quantity and pricing of the food. Later the younger families arrive. For a meal on a budget, when gourmet quality isn't a consideration, this establishment is quite appropriate.
