On a recent stay in Santa Monica, I found the great reviews for Cora's and was excited to find it was located right down the street from our hotel. We love going out to breakfast and understood that Cora's has limited seating and often a line.
We arrived at about 830 on a Saturday am and were the 5th group waiting in line. The line moved quickly. We were seated in a covered outdoor area. There are probably no more than 20 tables if that... Looked like 2-3 available inside and a very small counter. All seating requires you wait in line.
I ordered the orange blueberry pancakes and my husband ordered a special with eggs and hash. We each ordered coffee and hub had fresh OJ. Our meal was delivered after quite a wait but that's understandable due to the crowd and the fact we were seated about the same time as 4 other tables. I m not a huge pancake lover but I do love anything orange flavored so thought I'd made a great choice. The pancakes were good size with very few blueberries but a little on the dry side and just a hint of orange flavor. In my opinion, nothing to write home about. My husband said his hash was just ok and eggs good. Overall there was nothing particularly special in our experience.
Midway through our meal a waiter ( not ours) delivered a cappuccino which we told him we didn't order. He looked around but returned with it to the kitchen.
When our bill came, the cappuccino was listed and my husband went inside to pay and ask that it be removed. Our waiter came over and insisted that we ordered it. We didn't. It was a little uncomfortable but in the end removed from our bill.
I honestly don't see what's so special about this place and personally would not wait in line again.
