“Great food and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

Located at the end of the pier we were able to enjoy the sun outside and a very good lunch. The menu offers both reasonably priced dishes and very expensive options. Two entrees with two drinks cost us 34 dollars before tip. The service was fast and friendly and according to my son the viva Mexico burrito was the best he had ever had. They can make guacamole at your table. Nice experience.

“Best location - not great service & $$$”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014

I live nearby so a few of us decided to ride our bikes to Brunch on the Pier. While the SM Pier is a tourist trap we figured it would be a little pricey, but for moderate mexican food it was ridiculous! A regular Margarita was $15 and a large was $25! When we arrived the place was empty. We sat in the bar and after 15 minutes someone came by and then told us there is no food service in the bar area, so we went to the hostess who said it would be a 20 minute wait... There were at least 6 empty tables so we said can't we sit there? Then the hostess said, oh ya okay. Seriously? No wonder the place is empty bad service and too expensive! Avoid this tourist trap!

“Great Food & Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

Not your typical Tex - Mex Food

Fresh tasting and the Ceviche is wonderful.

Requesting seating on the patio... Nice breeze with a combination of the warm sun is relaxing.

“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

This is a restruant that is at the end of the Santa Monica pier, its all about the location, i wasnt expecting 'authentic' food, i was expecting to have some drinks, have some food and soak in the atmosphere, so given my criteria i give it a 4 - and what pushed it to the 4 was the size of the Sangria lol, for $6 a glass it was a big glass. The food was fine, not great, not bad but for $13-15 a plate, it was certainly worth it. I've been there before and would go back. its plastic tables and chairs, so know going in its more about atmospher location then anything else. - enjoy

“Awful”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

The one plus point for this restaurant is its location. Other than that it is a truly miserable experience.
The food sums up the worst of Mexican food, bland tasteless deep fried nonsense.
We waited 20 minutes to be served after we were shown to a table. I had the platter as it seemed to offer a range of food, however I couldn't have been more wrong. Everything on the plate was deep fried and then dumped on top of pile of miserable looking chips.

My wife described the food as "utterly vile"....

Avoid.

Easily some of the worst food i've ever eaten in the US.
