I got a very good first impression of the hotel. Nice staff in the door and check-in.
The room and bathroom was really well designed, and the bed super comfortable.
The poolside area was nice, however I would say it was more for hanging out than actual sunbathing as most sunbeds were in the shade at least parts of the day.
Food was pricy but good. Service around the pool could be better, I was waiting almost 1,5 hr until I had both my food and knife/fork at one occation.
All in all I had a good experience, but felt a little bit ripped off by food/drink-prices.
One more thing, the hotel charges USD 10,95/day for internet....I thought the times you could charge that much for internet usage were over a long time ago...

We have just been round the world for our honeymoon and the Viceroy was our first stop. I stay in lots of hotels with work so have high standards and expectations.
We were not disapointed here and found nothing to complain about at all - makes a change for me.
After arriving from the UK on a long flight we were met with upgarded room with sitting area, 2 large patio windows overlooking the sea, fantastic bathroom, petals in the bath, candles, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. All very welcoming and a nice suprise.
Attention to detail from the staff was excellent - nice man on the door waiting with bottle of water on return from my run down the beach and staff on / door remembering us by name and enquiring if we had had a good day.
This hotel is not on the beach it sits behind Shutters but is only a 1 minute walk. We decieded on this hotel as Shutters was having pool refurbished but were not disapointed.

I stayed at the Viceroy hotel for four days in March and I loved it. They were filming the new Disney movie in the hotel and around the pool and so we were not allowed access to the pool or the restaurant, which we were a bit put out over (given we figured the hotel would be getting paid a small fortune for the use by disney and we were offered no reduction for the inconvenience!) However we ended up having a birds eye view of the filming from our balcony which was fantastic to watch. We got a really nice letter from the hotel saying they hoped we would take the inconvenience in true LA style as this is what happens here! It was a fantastic experience (and seeing Adam Sandler, Guy Pearce and Kerri Russell helped!)

Hotel is amazing although it looks nothing from the outside it is really really cool inside. I am told Brad and George hang out there on weekends but sadly we didnt see them! Rooms are fairly small but the interior is BEAUTIFUL. Top tip ask for a pool view room as the seaview rooms are double the price and I dont get how you will see the sea from them!!!

All in all a great hotel with really nice staff and expensive cocktails!!!

The Viceroy is a trendy hipster boutique hotel. The decor is very graphic and groovy (giant cameo portraits hanging on the walls, stark black and white with bright yellow chairs. it's like you're walking around in a spread of Domino or Blueprint magazine). I personally think the decor is very fun and the rooms were clean and well appointed and the beds totally comfy. I somehow was upgraded to a junior suite and the bathroom was GIGANTIC with an awesome shower.

The pool area is really cool and a great place to grab a drink (especially at night, where people flock to the cozy cabana/tented lounges). If you are here during the week it is fairly quiet but come weekend the place is jam-packed. I have to admit that I never saw anyone swimming during the day and there was never direct sunlight on the pool. My least favorite thing is the way they keep the hallways and elevator EXTREMELY dark at all times. I understand wanting to create a mood at night, but when you can't even see in the elevator at 9am, its a little ridiculous. Other than that, an enjoyable experience.
