We recently had a two week holiday in the States, the Loews was our last stop and we were expecting a lot from this hotel. Unfortunately it failed to live up to its' expectations. When we checked in we asked if we could upgrade to a suite, we were told there would be a suite available in a couple of days. Two days later we asked what time the suite would be available only to be told that there would be no suite available during our stay. We did have a partial sea view though which I guess wasn't too bad. The surrounding area looked dodgy, loads of homeless, but we were assured that it was perfectly safe. We had room service three times, on all occasions the food was lukewarm, my husband's cup had lipstick marks on it and one of the plates had chocolate on. Only good thing about the hotel was that the Concierge was extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel gift shop extremely expensive even for a postcard. All in all, not what I would expect from a five star hotel. I definitely wouldn't stay here again.
