I don't usually right reviews, but wanted to take a minute to share our experience at the Sheraton Delfina in Santa Monica. First of all, we used Priceline to book our entire week trip. We stayed at 4 different hotels (Thousand Oaks, Santa Monica, Fullerton, and Pismo Beach) during the week of the Thanksgiving holiday in 2012. Santa Monica was by far the BEST! The service was fantastic; they upgraded us to an ocean view room (no other hotel even remotely considered this because we booked 3rd party), were extremely helpful with any questions we had, never let us open a door, and everyone had a smile on their face at all times. We have never received such great service; in fact, at one point my husband said..."I'm almost getting too much attention". :-)

The hotel is a couple of blocks from the Promenade and beach, but getting a taxi was NO problem and only about 5 bucks.

I will definitely, and already have, recommended this hotel to friends and family.

Sheraton Delfina is a great location. Rooms were fantastic. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. However, there was not enough space for all of our clothes (two girls). Parking was difficult for people who would return to the hotel VERY late but I was happy that they even offered free self-parking to begin with. The hotel is located across from a school but didn’t find it disrupting. The hotel is approximately 10 minute walk from Santa Monica Place. It probably took us longer to walk back to the hotel because we were out all day shopping and at the beach! It’s a great hotel and I would stay there again. The front desk staffs were always pleasant (probably the best that I have ever had!). The concierge and housekeeping were also exceptional when we needed their assistance. The only thing that I was NOT impressed with was valet and bell hop (not all but some). They expected a tip at the beginning. I am not a person new to “tipping” and I prefer to wait until I either get my car or get to my room before tipping. Tipping should never be expected. My stay was from November 22-28, 2012.

We have stayed at this hotel on more than one occasion and I am impressed with the investment to upgrade the hotel. They have done a nice job with the lobby and now the rooms to modernize them. We did not really use the pool area but it is also quite nice as well.
This hotel is good value compared to those on the beach (Shutters, Loews) but you just have to get over the walk down Pico to get there.
Only watch out is the valet parking in that it is $25/night but you can self park for free (although there seems to be a limit on the times you can self park).
Overall I would reco this hotel but do yourself a favour a get a room with an ocean view as at least you are facing the ocean and not the high school or back into the city.

I had a very nice two night stay at this property. I was visiting on business and had everything I needed to work comfortably from my room as needed. I did notice that the local high school was across the street and I was there on two weekday nights. I have to say that there was no issue of noise OR excessive traffic due to the location of the school (noted as a potential problem by another reviewer). The hotel construction was also not a problem from my perspective. I did notice it when I left the hotel to take a walk but there was no noticable disruptions caused by the machinery or workers. I also had an ocean view with a balcony (on the 5th floor), so the construction area was not far from my room. I want to commend the staff for making my stay a pleasurable one. I would certainly visit this property again when conducting business in the Santa Monica area.
