My husband is undergoing cancer treatment at UCLA and we wanted to stay someplace that could be sensitive to our special needs. We stayed at the W Los Angeles right around the corner from UCLA the first visit but needed a place a little more affordable. We've stayed at the Sheraton Delfina in Santa Monica three times now; each stay for one night, two weeks apart. This is not a pattern that hotels usually like, however we have been received like royalty at the Delfina. On our arrival for our second stay we found that the valet and bell staff remembered us by name. It was very impressive. The rooms are always clean, very comfy and all have mini bar refrigerators that the staff clears out so that I can store my husbands medications. It's been a difficult time for our family so the kindness and attention to detail of the staff is deeply appreciated. If you are considering this hotel for a short or long stay it should be noted that the room service is fast but not cheep. We usually order off the childs menu and are very happy. The area is full of places to eat and the 3rd street Promanade and Santa Monica Pier are very close.
