The facility was nice, and the concierge help was excellent. They helped us in sight seeing and choosing the right restaurant. The have a self parking garage which we appreciated. At certain times of day the garage filled up. The valet only offered valet parking at $21/night. The manager was more accommodating when pressed for help.

This was our first stay at the Delfina and we couldn't have been happier. Our visit to Santa Monica was to mark a very special birthday, so I was anxious that everything would be perfect and I was so relieved upon arrival.
I absolutely loved the cool and stylish decor of the hotel which we found to have a very relaxed ambiance. The staff were so pleasant and helpful, John on reception even went to the trouble of sending a handwitten birthday message to my Fiance which was delivered to our room with complimentary champagne... this was such a lovely touch that we'll always remember.
The room was spacious, clean and stylishly decorated.
The hotel is approximately a 10 minute to walk to the charming Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica where I would highly recommend a visit to Barney's Beanery for delicious martinis!!

I've stayed here multiple times for work over the past few years. The staff is always pleasant, the updated lobby, bar/restaurant spaces make you feel like you are staying in a higher end property, the location puts you within walking distance of the beach and to the local shopping on Main Street in Santa Monica (along with cafes and restaurants, too!) and you are centrally located to enjoy the West Side. I believe you still have the option to self park your car for less money each day (though it may be a one time a day in and out charge, so valet still may be your better bet.) When you add all of that up AND the Starwood points you will get from staying here, you've just scored yourself a good deal in a very good area. You will notice they took some design cues from the Viceroy nearby. You can walk there and have a cocktail without paying for their more expensive room rates!

Check out Urth Caffe just a short walk away for a delicious breakfast or lunch outside in the CA sunshine. It's always on my list when I am in town.

My only complaint (though tiny) was the older AC window units they had in some of the rooms. But perhaps they have been updated. You will be happy with your stay here and I believe they even have a shuttle service within a mile or so from the property.

Booked this hotel at the last minute for a one-night stay through a discount broker, and was not disappointed. The room was enormous and well-equipped, and particularly colorful -- compared to Marriotts and the like. While the view neither directly faced the water or the city of Santa Monica, high-floor rooms afford an amazing view of the sunset over the ocean. Free parking (and reserved parking for hybrids and electric cars) is a bonus in parking-choked Santa Monica.

If the rack rate weren't so expensive, I'd come back without question. Considering the daily rate is almost 60% higher than what I paid, though, I'd be willing to gamble on another "mystery" hotel.
